My favorite person is my family—what a happy way to think!
Hello. It is time for Nanako Shima's 'I Found a Great Article'.
While surfing Note in the waiting room of the ENT clinic, I came across a wonderful article.
It is an eye-opening article by Takimiya-san about being a fan of their entire family, which Satsuki Suzukoro-san then elevated into an even more wonderful idea by saying 'I love this!'.
I married my husband because I love him, and I still love him, but lately, due to small daily frustrations and such, I couldn't call him my 'favorite,' and there are times when I even think my children are just monsters who push me around (God, forgive me).
Maybe I haven't been able to love my family lately...!!
That was the realization that struck me like lightning in the ENT waiting room.
I'm going to try being a 'fan of my family' too...!!
So I went home.
As for how tonight went?
Well, the monsters were still monsters, haha.
They were fighting and hitting each other, putting their feet on the table, crying 'waaaaah' because things weren't going their way... etc.
Well... it's the usual scene, isn't it.
But, if there is one thing that changed:
o They went to school properly even though it's just after Golden Week, good for them.
o They worked hard at school, so that's why they're doing whatever they want at home.
And so, you're doing great, you worked so hard—that kind of feeling welled up inside me.
Ah, when I look at my children through my 'Oshi-glasses' (a term I coined—looking at someone with the same love as you would your favorite idol), I realize just how hard they are working every single day...
They are truly precious.
I am so grateful that they are healthy.
That is the feeling I was able to reach.
And one thing I discovered is,
that for my children, my husband and I are their favorite people right now
.
Even when I scold them every day or things get tense,
they tell me 'I love you, Mommy,' and 'I love you, Daddy' (for some reason, my husband got promoted to 'Daddy' first, haha),
every single day.
I am so grateful for that.
I must record this in a note so I never forget it for the rest of my life.
The fact that I was the absolute favorite person of my children.
So that one day, when my children grow up,
and they don't tell me they love me anymore, or when the day comes that they are caught in the great storm of adolescence, I will still be able to remember.
That my home is overflowing with love.
That is all I have written based on the article that taught me about 'family favorites.'
I recommend 'favorite-person glasses.' Please try wearing them if you'd like!
Huh? Did I forget someone? What about my husband, you ask?
It's okay. My husband might not be a 'favorite' in that sense, but I love him very much.
I wonder how he feels about it, though...
My husband doesn't really use those kinds of expressions, but today at lunch
'I love how much you eat, haha'
is what he said to me 🤣
Oh well, haha.
Well, he might be looking at me favorably, perhaps.
Thank you for reading this far.
May your tomorrow be bright, fun, and filled with your favorites 🍀
