The Meaning of Renewing My Career Consultant Certification and My 'Way of Fighting' as Revealed by AI and Egograms
For the past three years, there has been something weighing on the back of my mind, a source of pressure.
The renewal deadline for my national Career Consultant certification.
The expiration date is finally two years away.
I currently work as a staff member at a university's information processing center.
While I am fully dedicated to my daily tasks, this certification renewal deadline has always been nagging at me somewhere in my heart.
I don't have any spectacular counseling achievements that could be called professional experience, and since the renewal process requires not only effort but also a fair amount of money, I have wondered if I should just quietly let the certification expire.
These thoughts have crossed my mind every single day.
'In the first place, it seems I am not attracted to the role of a counselor.'
I had never been able to confess this to anyone, and it felt like a thorn deeply embedded in the depths of my heart.
For the first time, I poured it out to Gemini, an AI.
The sense of discomfort found after seeking the 'correct answer'
I originally aimed for this certification when I was at a career center at a different university.
I wanted to respond to the students struggling in front of me not just with my own subjective views or personal anecdotes, but with the 'correct knowledge' of a professional.
I started studying out of that temporary sense of responsibility.
However, as I began attending training school and repeating role-playing exercises with peers who shared the same aspirations, a small but undeniable sense of discomfort began to sprout within me.
Listening to others, empathizing, and accepting them.
Even though I fully understood the importance of these things, every time I repeated the exercises, the thought that 'this might not be the job I truly want to do in the future' grew stronger, eventually turning into something that felt like a conviction.
Originally, after obtaining the certification, I perhaps should have looked for a job in 'consulting' that utilized that expertise.
In fact, when I started job hunting, I focused on 'consulting' roles.
However, the job at the current information processing center stood out as the most brilliant among the job postings.
It wasn't logic; it was a pure impulse of 'I want to do this job!'
The place I jumped into, following that momentum, is a place where I am constantly called upon by students and faculty every day, and there is a lot of miscellaneous work.
However, it is an environment where I can feel a sense of responsibility and fulfillment, managing university information and networks, and sometimes making proposals for the organization's DX promotion.
The long 'back-and-forth' with Gemini changed me
While harboring guilt about 'not utilizing my certification,' I had long conversations with Gemini.
Asking questions, and then asking back.
While accepting the characteristic that 'AI affirms your feelings,' through that long 'back-and-forth' process, my feelings finally took shape.
It was that the backbone of a national certification is not just for 'giving advice'.
Even in the unstable position of a temporary employee, it is a powerful shield for maintaining a 'position where I can speak up' against the irrationality of the organization.
It is a 'shield' and a 'sword' to give public weight to my words when I say I want to change society.
When I gained that sense of conviction, my mind was finally made up.
10 hours of knowledge training required for renewal10 hours of knowledge training.
And 30 hours of skills training to supplement my practical experience30 hours of skills training.
I decided to take on this steep wall.
Immediately after, I finished applying for the knowledge training.
'I will intentionally create a situation where I have one foot in and cannot back out.'
This is my way of making a resolution.
The 'true identity' of me exposed by the Egogram
Following that, I also applied for the skills training.
The first step in my renewal journey was taking a course on the psychological analysis tool 'Egogram'.
The five values calculated for me there were:
CP (13), NP (20), A (19), FC (19), AC (13).

The waveform drawn by these values was a 'trapezoid' with the three central items (NP, A, and FC) high and flat.
NP (Nurturing Parent) was perfect, and A (Adult/Logic) and FC (Free Child/Creativity) were also extremely high.
When I compared the instructor's words with my own self-analysis, the true nature of the discomfort I had long felt regarding 'counseling work' finally melted away.
Why did I not feel drawn to 'counseling work'?
Perhaps it is because I am the type of person who cannot be satisfied by merely accepting the other person's story.
My essence is that of an active creator: I want to give shape to overflowing ideas (FC), organize systems with calm analysis (A), and be useful to someone with an overwhelming desire to contribute (NP).
It is not just 'counseling,' but rather a creative 'co-creation.'
I realized that this is what my soul has been seeking.
I can also read from my egogram waveform why 'nutritionist' or 'game creator' always comes to the top when I take a career aptitude test.
Qualities of a nutritionist:
Based on high NP (nurturing), using scientific data (A), giving shape to 'health and joy' (FC) within limited ingredients and budget.
Qualities of a game creator:
Fusing free playfulness (FC) with precise system construction (A) to sublimate it into an experience (NP) that entertains the user.
Both are crystals of 'logical kindness' and 'creative ingenuity'.
They were exactly the values of my egogram.
The moment I smirk when turning 'what's on hand' into treasure
I have always felt unparalleled joy in making the most of 'what is currently available'.
There is no budget, there are no materials.
Beside those who lament this, I shout in my heart, 'Alright! Let's do this!'
The more constraints there are, the more the 'I'll find a way' switch inside me turns on.
Making a nutritious and delicious dish with only the leftovers in the fridge.
When planning a trip, researching everything with what I have and even creating my own podcast.
'How shall I accomplish this using these?' At that moment, the corners of my mouth lift.
That feeling of 'smirking' was the signal that my creativity was in full swing.
By the way, even though I say I don't feel drawn to 'counseling work,' when students come to me with their shoulders slumped saying, 'I don't have any Gakuchika (things I focused on during my student days),' I shout strongly in my heart, 'That's not true!'
Surely, this is the 'I'll find a way' switch.
And I even feel a sense of exhilaration in drawing out the small clues obtained by listening to the students' stories and polishing the trivial fragments of daily life into a one-of-a-kind episode together with them.
If I unravel this from the egogram waveform, it is nothing but 'excavation work' based on NP (nurturing), analyzing materials from the perspective of A (logic), and reweaving them with the words of FC (sensitivity).
To change the 'structure' of society
However, at the root of my current activities, there is another strong, undying will.
It is a challenge to the reality that non-regular and fixed-term employees are treated as 'cheap adjustment valves' for society.
Despite being the constituent members who support the front lines, they are kept in an unstable position forever and continue to harbor anxiety about the future.
Because I am a temporary employee myself and in the midst of that vortex, I understand.
Now that the ice-age generation is entering the senior layer, there is no way we should leave this unreasonableness as it is.
Organizations should properly respect and take responsibility for the human resources who contribute full-time.
We must change this social structure.
That thought continues to burn in my chest.
Merely listening to and comforting each person will not solve this massive structural unreasonableness.
Even if I were to dispel the consultant's irrational beliefs and encourage recurrent education, it would not reach those who have fallen through the cracks of support, given up, and forgotten how to even reach out.
That is why I decided to renew my 'national qualification' as a career consultant.
To maintain a 'position where I can speak out' as an expert.
And as an energy source to change the system itself.
What I want to entrust to myself five years from now
Two more years. When I finish the preparations for renewal and safely obtain the next five years of life.
Possibilities are still spreading out before me.
At a university, I will master AI and technology to build a system that can contribute to students as they leap into society.
For companies, through support for introducing self-career docks, I will encourage transformation into organizations where non-regular staff are also treated with care as valuable human resources.
Standing in the training field, I will create opportunities for working people to regain their self-esteem with my own words.
I want to be a new type of 'career producer' who makes people happy through systems and expression!
With a national qualification as my backing, I will use my strengths in 'construction' and 'editing' to punch a hole in the common sense of this society.
When I think of that, I feel the hands of the clock that had stopped now moving with tremendous force.
The renewal in two years, and the five years beyond that.
I have resolved to face this society in a way that only I can.
