Vol. 361 The One Thing You Must Keep in Mind When Traveling with Kids
Traveling with children is tough.
There are all sorts of hardships.
And when it comes to a trip, it's even more so.
It requires thorough research and preparation.
Bring extra changes of clothes, allow plenty of time, have them hold onto one of their favorite items, etc... There are many essentials, but I'd like to introduce the one point that I personally think you absolutely must follow—seriously, it's a must! That is
“Don't let them realize you're going on a trip until the very last minute”
…that's it lol
Of course, I mean the child themselves.
I think any mom or dad who has raised children will understand this ε-(´∀`; )
Children are creatures that tend to run a fever exactly when something important is coming up.
When there's an exciting event, they get worked up and their rhythm gets thrown off. This seems to be a type of excitement-induced fever.
My son (5 years old) also has aprior record of getting a fever the day before we were supposed to go to Yokohama, forcing us to pay a 100% cancellation fee.Besides that, there have been many times when we had to cancel plans for day trips to the zoo or museums because he developed symptoms like a fever or vomiting right when we were supposed to go (actually, this Golden Week, all our plans were ruined by gastroenteritis).
Well, there's nothing you can do about this.
The child is not to blame.
But still, I spend so much time preparing everything! 😭
Dad even takes paid leave! 😭
And hotels charge cancellation fees! 😭
…So, in our house, we hide it until the very last minute!
Lately, we've been strictly adhering to this.
We prepare in secret and then quickly toss them into the car on the day of.
“Alright, we're going on a trip now! \(^^)/”
Now, the reason I'm writing this article is because we have a trip planned soon. And it's a distance that requires a flight. It will be my son's first time on an airplane.

Am I a ninja?
So, will our family be able to depart safely?
Will we be able to get on the plane?
…I'll write about the results later.
