Spiral Staircase
The day I looked up
A spiral staircase stretching into the blue sky
Waving with every curve
The long hem of a crimson dress
Even though I passed through the clouds so long ago
I am still ascending
I am chasing you
My body is already hollow
And so light that I might fly away if the wind blows
Perhaps I will just become space debris like this
But I thought that was fine
Because I can see your figure before my eyes
Pouring breath into my hollowed-out body
How much time has passed
How many nights have I crossed
I don't even know that
Even though I am becoming more and more hollow
You are becoming more and more invincible
And accelerating away
And finally, you disappeared beyond the blue sky
You became invisible from here
I look up at the breathtaking sky
How long has it been
Since I felt hunger
I have lost sight of you
You are no longer in my field of vision
Let's descend from here
I peeled off my shoes, which were by now like a part of my feet
And let them drop
I cannot even hear the sound of them hitting the ground
Let's descend now
From this high above
From the spiral staircase where you are no longer
Down to that ground
