Poem: The Place to Return To
On the way home, the twinkling starlight
Illuminated your tears back then
Since no words are needed
Won't you please stay by my side?
I heard it clearly
The scream of your heart, piercing my chest across time
Days spent fearing an indelible past
You are searching for a place to erase your shadow, aren't you?
I understand that right away
To erase the shadow, you just need to wrap it in love
If you can feel true love
That is the place for you to return to
Words are unnecessary
Just by nestling close to your heart
Can you feel the love?
That's right, this is the place to return to
I want to be a place like a sunny spot for you
So that you will never suffer again
On the way home, I was gazing at the sky
Back when you hated the sky
Even the sky is surprised to be hated
Even though I watch over you, even if you don't notice
Even though the stars are always twinkling
To you who laments that they are too bright
How much light would you be willing to accept?
There must be a light that feels comfortable to you
Because no words are needed
Won't you please stay by my side?
I certainly heard it that way
I still think so even now
Carrying a heavy darkness, unable to hold it all, you shed tears
To you with the straightforward eyes
Something that melts a frozen heart
A softly warming light is what you want, isn't it?
To be someone you can believe in
I want to be someone who makes you glad to be alive
If we were born to be fulfilled
I want to fill you with all the love I have
The way home I was looking for
The light is right here
No matter the time, I want to be the light
Of the twinkling stars that continue to shine upon you
To help you wipe away your tears and start walking again
I want to be the light that stays close to your heart
Because I want you to find a place to return to
I am not going anywhere
I will be by your side forever
As long as that is what you wish for
I always want to be your light
[End]
<Afterword>
There is nowhere in this world where I belong.
There is no way someone who understands my true feelings could exist.
Have you ever felt that way?
Or perhaps felt like you were about to be consumed by an inexplicable fear.
Or carried the wounds of your past with you for a long time.
As humans go through life, we often carry many wounds, living in fear of having those wounds touched by others.
But perhaps, there might be someone who understands those wounds you think no one else could ever comprehend.
Surprisingly, they might even be close to you.
It might just be you who is not trying to see the light, when in fact, there is a light shining upon you.
If you melt your icy heart, you might be able to feel warm love.
I believe there are encounters with people you would want to bet on such possibilities with.
For anyone, a time of loneliness does not last forever.
If you keep working earnestly, I wonder if God might prepare a place for you to return to in an unexpected way.
Including such realizations, I have created this poem.
Gratitude for meeting someone precious.
Gratitude for being loved.
Gratitude for being alive.
May you all be able to do your best today and tomorrow.
Thank you for reading until the end.
