What I really wanted wasn't just sales
Hello.
I am Masami Kawanishi,
a specialist in increasing salon revenue streams.
Today,
I would like to talk about
“What I really wanted wasn't just sales.”
In the past,
I always thought,
“I want to increase my sales more.”
I want to grow my salon revenue.
I want more stability.
I want to eliminate my anxiety about money.
So,
I invested a lot in learning,
worked hard on my outreach,
and took action.
But,
back then,
I truly believed that
“I would be happy if only my sales went up.”
But in reality,
even when sales went up,
I felt somewhat miserable.
My schedule was full.
I was busy.
I was grateful.
But,
I kept wondering somewhere inside,
“How long will I keep living this life...?”
Standing in the salon every day,
relying on physical stamina,
feeling relieved when bookings came in.
But,
I felt anxious when there were cancellations or when I felt unwell.
“If I don't keep working, the sales will stop.”
That feeling
was always there.
Moreover,
when I got home,
I was a mother,
a wife,
and the work never ended.
There were days when I wanted to cry,
thinking, “I'm trying so hard.”
That was when I realized.
What I really wanted
wasn't just
“sales.”
What I really wanted
was “peace of mind.”
I wanted to cherish time with my family.
I wanted to work without feeling rushed.
I wanted to work without the fear of getting sick.
I wanted the peace of mind
of not being swayed by sales figures, wondering, “What will I do this month?”
And above all,
I wanted to do work that
“delivers the values I truly care about.”
From that point on, I
“stopped working in a way that only chased sales.”
I started delivering the experience I had cultivated in the salon to those who needed it.
I began turning my knowledge and experience into courses.
Then, not only did my sales change, but
“the way I work itself”
changed as well.
Of course, sales are important.
You can't live on idealism alone.
But,
“what are these sales for?”
If you lose sight of this, you will feel miserable no matter how hard you work.
So now,
if you are thinking,
“I want sales, but I feel like I've reached my limit with how I'm working now,”
if you feel that way, it's not because you're being soft,
“it might be a sign of the next stage”for you ^^
Especially for those who are highly sensitive,
you tend to work too hard for the sake of others.
That is exactly why
“you are allowed to choose a way of working where you can be happy too.”
