"I'm glad I'm alive" is not an exaggeration. A story about receiving a little bit of courage this morning.
I was looking for a topic for today's note. I usually look for one in the events of the day.I had an experience where I thought, "Ah, this is it," so I kept it in mind until the evening.
Since it's about daily life, it's not a grand success story or anything special, but rather a moment in everyday life where I felt, "I'm glad I'm alive."
It happened this morning.
As I was walking down the street, a mother and her child heading to kindergarten were walking toward me. They were strangers. As we passed each other,
the child greeted me firmly.
"Good morning!"I was caught off guard, but I was happy.
I naturally smiled too,and replied, "Good morning."
When I glanced back at the child's face, they had a very lively, happy smile.By having their greeting returned, they seemed to have a face filled with confidence.
We just exchanged a greeting.
But that brief interaction warmed my heart.Greeting someone and returning it with a smile.
It's just that, but by accepting and responding to the other person, you might be able to give them "courage."At the same time, I also received courage from seeing that smile.
One more thing I felt...I felt that perhaps we shared, even for a moment, a sense of security like "it's okay to be here."
I hope that is a "sense of belonging," like being accepted in this town, and more broadly, in this country.
Where do you find your "warmth"?
Saying "I'm glad I'm alive" feels like an exaggeration. But I feel that it can be found in such trivial daily occurrences. This is the feeling of being glad to be alive that I experienced.
I think the points where people feel this are different for everyone.I'm sure there are moments when you feel it too, through some event.
A moment when your heart feels a gentle warmth.
What kind of moments or events have made you feel "I'm glad I'm alive"?
If you'd like, please try to remember.
