"Sunny Days and Rainy Days" #130 A Trash Can for the Heart
Last week, January 6th, was one of the few days in the year that is both an Ichiryumanbai-bi (a day when a single grain of rice becomes ten thousand) and a Tensha-nichi (a day when heaven grants pardon).
I wanted to start something. I thought about various things I could do that would lead to further growth.
It has been over a year since I started my humble note. Before that, I had absolutely no interest in social media.
However, when I started learning coaching, I learned that people called "coaches" were posting on Twitter, Facebook, or note. I was convinced that such activities were necessary to promote coaching and find connections with clients.
I never disliked writing. So, I thought, I'll do it too, and started note around the time I earned my first basic coaching qualification.
The primary goal was to use it as an advertising tower to advance coaching as a business. However, once I started, I found that by trying to find topics, I kept my antennas up and opened the windows of my heart, which were secondary benefits.
In reality, my humble note has not yet led to any coaching business. After continuing for a year, I understand the reality, thinking, well, that's how it is.
However, when I wander around the note world, there are quite a few people who are suffering or having a hard time. It's the same in real life.
People who are troubled about raising children or their parents.
People who stand still, holding in their hearts feelings they cannot help, feelings with nowhere to go, and pain they cannot tell anyone.
I often come across stories where I wonder how these people think about their own lives from here on.
Before I say something arrogant like, "I am a coach, and I will provide value through conversation," can't I just be there for those people?
Can't I become a "trash can for the heart" where they can spill out stories they can't easily tell others?
I won't give arrogant advice or preach.
I am thinking about whether I can just listen to those "thoughts" with a pure heart.
The more I want to be of help to someone, the more I realize my own powerlessness.
The more I want to do something about it, the more I am forced to face my own helplessness.
I do not have the power to solve what people are carrying.
But can't I be with those people, or with those feelings?
Couldn't that lead to even a little bit of salvation for them?
I felt like I had increased my repertoire by gaining coaching experience, but I should reset that once. That is for the other person, but it is also for me.
Wouldn't God give a powerless person like me such a use? That sounds a bit too cool, but the truth is, I've started to feel like saying things about communication is just me trying to look good.
I don't really know what kind of activities I should do for that.
But first, I wanted to express those thoughts on this auspicious day.
I don't know what kind of fruit this will bear in the future, but I decided to put these thoughts up as my sign.
So, I wrote this article.
I decided to revise my profile section and add that to the greeting at the end of my articles.
That is all I specifically did. With just that, how much can I become everyone's "trash can for the heart"? No, in reality, I probably won't receive a single email like that.
But I think there is meaning in declaring that this is how I feel, and seeing those words every time I post on note to renew my resolve.
I would be truly delighted if you would use this "trash can for the heart" to help you live your life even a little more easily. Please feel free to send me things you cannot say in public places like the note comment section. I promise to respond with sincerity.
Usually, I say frivolous things like "I'm the leader of the anti-bread party!", but what I'm saying today is my true heart.

Thank you very much for staying with me until the end today too ♬ Katsuyuki Nagai
