[University Entrance Exams & Career] Attachment has an expiration date. — When you let go of "It has to be this place (or person)!"
The end of the exam season.
It is a time when some are basking in the light of acceptance, while others are quietly blaming themselves in the face of results that didn't go their way.
"If it's not here, my life won't begin."
"If I can't get into that school, all my efforts so far are meaningless."
To those of you who are feeling suffocated by tying your heart to just one "correct answer."
Today, I want to write about the "expiration date of attachment" that a student once taught me, and the scenery that lies beyond it.
A new map found at the end of giving it your all
He did not reach his first-choice school.
Aiming for acceptance into a MARCH university,
he spent a year running forward, literally sparing no time for sleep.
If you look only at the results,
"Rejected"
might be the only two characters that remain.
But the voice that gave me the report was surprisingly bright.
"I gave it my all this year, to the point where I'm even surprised at myself, so
I have no regrets anymore.
At first, I thought about taking a second gap year, but I can't do any more than this.
So, next year I will prepare and study abroad.
Then I plan to aim for a transfer."
He laid his attachment to "getting into a famous university no matter what" to rest with a passion called "acceptance."
Because he ran until he reached his limit, he was able to
"This path ends here"
and gracefully turn the steering wheel.
The expiration date of "attachment" you should know about
When we try to accomplish something,
we always have "attachment."
It is like gasoline that drives us forward.
But we must not forget that it has an "expiration date."
• Attachment as passion: High-purity energy to run toward the goal right in front of you.
• Attachment as lingering regret: A poison that keeps you facing the past, thinking "that would have been better," and constantly denying yourself.
If you are currently suffering because you are fixated on your job, relationships, or academic background, it might be a sign that your passion has turned into "lingering regret."
Expired gasoline not only robs you of the power to run, but it also damages the engine (your heart) itself.
What we really wanted
Please think about it for a moment.
Did we really want the specific "place" or "label" itself?
Or did we want to meet the "self who is smiling with pride" in that place?
There are places you couldn't reach despite trying with all your might...
That is not an endpoint called "failure,"
but perhaps a gentle signal letting you know that a "different correct answer" more suitable for who you are now is nearby.
— Making the path you chose the correct one.
In truth, there is no such thing as a "wrong path" in life.
All there is, is the resolve to "make the path you chose the correct one with your own hands later."
As long as you have that resolve, no matter where you go or what you do, you can shine as yourself.
Today, please first fully acknowledge yourself for having run with all your might until now.
"Since I've done this much, it's okay."
When you can think that, a new door that you hadn't seen before should be quietly, yet surely, opening before you.
The path you have decided on
is entirely correct.

I started a standFM channel🌿
I'm posting leisurely, so I would be happy if you could listen while doing other things.
"Talks about learning beyond deviation scores"
A radio show from the front lines of university entrance exams that stays close to the "hearts" of teenagers and their families🌿
Why not design a "learning" that lasts a lifetime, not just about deviation scores or academic background?
🎙 Content
・How to face exam students (Exams x Coaching)
・Self-care to keep parents' own mental health in check
・Daily life and learning as a working mom
To those on the "supporting side" who blame themselves because of their high ideals.
While valuing the desire to "do things properly,"
I would be happy if we could think about and share communication that makes both sides feel at ease✨
