Recommended Song: "CONTINUUM" by Jaco Pastorius
Avoiding the pouring sunlight, I watch the flow of a large river leading to the sea from the shade of a bridge made of inorganic steel and concrete.
When I suddenly look up, the sunlight reflected on the river surface draws shimmering wave patterns on the steel and concrete.
When I encountered such a scene, the song that started playing in my head was this one, "CONTINUUM."
The passages released from Jaco Pastorius's fingers have both an urban and a primitive flavor.
Smooth slurs, the rich resonance of open strings, the way single notes and chords are constructed to evoke color, and a mellow vibrato with a thick core.
Although Jaco Pastorius has a strong image of funk, fusion, and jazz, I feel that his way of constructing sounds, where his classical sense stands out, is similar to that of Eddie Van Halen, whom I deeply respect.
I think it is a perfect song for the deepening autumn as well.
