Rough Technique Short-Short_ Mystery
Late on such a Sunday night, I pulled off another rough technique.
Now then, the latest prompt for Kosuke Komaki's Polar Bear Literature Club is released every Thursday.
And this time, the prompt is: Why not freely write a note starting with 'I can't sleep'?
And the prompt from Nika Tahara is...
The prompt is [Disownment Guidebook] |д゚) peek, so there's that.
Also, the prompt for Akira Yamane's Blue Bra Literature Club is...
The prompt is 'The prompt I thought of for this time is...'
Prompt: In Search of the Ovoid (English: In Search of the Ovoid).
The reason is that I recently learned the word 'ovoid' and realized I've never actually read Proust's 'In Search of Lost Time'.
However, this prompt is probably hard to write about, right?
So, for this time, the prompt will be,
'In Search of the Lost ◯◯' 😊. You can fill in the '◯◯' with any word you like (there is no character limit).
Of course, 'In Search of the Lost Ovoid' is also OK 😊💕', so there's that.
This time, I will use Akira Yamane's prompt just as it is.
Little Kojuro inside my heart muttered softly.
Koji, you shouldn't go around saying you're a 'rough technician' so openly.
Hmm... You're right.
Both of these three people's projects have a huge number of fans and people wanting to participate. I think just coming up with prompts is a lot of work. Yet, they still provide prompts. Every week. I am truly grateful. It is truly encouraging.
Also, this time, I read Harunotsuki's Polar Bear Literature Club piece. I'll write down my thoughts on it as a Polar Bear review.
I searched for "Shirokuma Literary Club - Can't Sleep" and flew over here.
I will write just a little bit of a Shirokuma review in the comments section.
I still often dream about exams.
The bell rings to end the exam while I still don't know where the exam hall is.
Or I submit a blank answer sheet because I couldn't write anything.
Oh, I'm held back a year again. I can't graduate.
It's a dream where I give up on the future like that again.
When I wake up with a start, it's past two in the morning.
I'm sweating.
I still feel like that.
Unlike the seriousness of Harunotsuki-san's dream, mine is a light, disappointing dream.
Spring has passed, and it is early summer.
Let's take it easy. Slowly, gently.
Thank you for the good song.
Grateful that I am alive now. Tonight, too, I will pray to the moon.
Little kojuro inside my heart muttered softly.
A rough technique of writing three things at once: the prompt given to me, Kosuke Komaki's opening words (Shirokuma Literary Club), Tarahakani's public prompt (Weekly Short Short Note), and Akira Yamane's Blue Bra Literature Club prompt. Furthermore, adding the Shirokuma review makes it a quadruple rough technique. Isn't that a bit too much?
That's right, this week is a quadruple rough technique.
Hmm.
How many weeks has it been now? I've finally entered my third and a half year.
Well, I'll keep going as long as I can.
Little kojuro inside my heart muttered softly again.
You're just like a brat.
Well, yeah.
What are you talking about?

Well then, let's move on to the main story. Here is this week's rough technique, "Short Short_ XX," about 410 characters.

Lately, I've been having sleepless nights.
Ryo decided that he needed a break and took a day off.
When his brother suddenly disappeared mysteriously,
and he decided to join the secret police with an eye toward searching for him, his father said to him,
"I no longer consider you my child."
While smiling bitterly at the cliché line, Ryo chose his own path.
However.
The frustration of not being able to find any clues to his brother's disappearance was slowly cornering Ryo, but recently he had learned something.
In his brother's schedule book, there were egg-shaped marks written irregularly.
It seems that in the early stages of the investigation, there was an investigator who thought that this must be some kind of hint. But before he knew it, that fact had been covered up, and years had passed without it ever being presented to Ryo as a clue.
At the end of his day off, Ryo made a firm resolution.
The only things I can trust are my own eyes and intuition.
He would step into the swamp of mystery in search of the lost egg shape, and someday, he would definitely reach the truth.

<<Afterthought>>
Now, here is an explanation of the "Weekly Short Short Note" prompt.
In the Short Short Note card game, the style is to hint at the prompt word without including it directly.
Kosuke Komaki's opening prompt, Akira Yamane's Blue Bra Literature Club prompt, and the three prompts for the "Three-Topic Story" I write on Wednesdays all incorporate the words directly into the text or title, but for Tarahakani's prompt, I try to follow the style of "hinting" without including the words themselves as much as possible.
However, on the other hand, there are people who keep looking for the prompts in my "rough technique."
Regarding Tarahakani's prompt, I will try to include an intrusive explanation here today as well.
But.
I will not accept any complaints about this explanation. Because this, too, is a "rough technique." lol
◆The prompt is [Disownment Guidebook] -> Ryo's father's words announcing the disownment were something heard in some drama somewhere. It was as if he were reading from a guidebook, a line stamped out like a seal.
What's that? You don't get it? You don't understand? It doesn't click?
That's natural. It's all a "rough technique." lol
By the way, I chose this cover image by searching for "mystery."
Even so, the rough technique. It's still difficult. It takes time, too. It's an ascetic practice. lol
The road to becoming a rough technique master is still far away in the distance. I can't even see a fragment of it.
As I was about to talk to my wife about this and that, I looked at the sofa and saw her pointing at her legs and smiling at me.
"We went to watch the game, and I'm so tired. Could you give me a massa (Note 1), Koji-kun?"
"Sigh..."
When I give her a massage, my wife is in a good mood.
When my wife is in a good mood, our home is peaceful.
Therefore.
This is fine.

(Note 1) 'Massa' is short for massage. That's how my wife, Sacchan, abbreviates it. Giving Sacchan a 'massa' is my most important daily routine.
