Absence
Finally, this time of year has arrived. My wife is participating in a certain project.
Occasionally, she stays at a hotel in the city center for about two months to work, and she hardly ever comes home.
That season has arrived.
Regarding this project, when my wife was debating whether or not to participate, I suggested she not raise her hand.
However.
After much thought, my wife decided to give it her best shot.
The little Kojuro inside my heart muttered softly.
Koji, Sacchan (Note 1) is also thinking about our household finances.
It is quite grueling work. She only has one day off a week. Although she doesn't start at her usual super-early hour in the morning, her nights are late.
Her life becomes completely turned upside down, day and night.
Honestly, I think she does a great job.
This current project is supposed to last until summer, and it seems it will start a new phase from this autumn.
And it seems another new project is taking shape around the end of the year.
When I ask how long this will continue, she says it will probably be another two years, or perhaps three to four years at the longest.
I, too, have changed departments and jobs, and I am exhausted every day, but my wife is even more exhausted than I am.
Sometimes I am suddenly overcome with anxiety, wondering how long we can keep this up.
My wife says to me:
"Koji-kun, my dream is to become a full-time housewife someday. Even though I can't do housework, and I'll have you do it all."
......
What are you talking about?

As I turned around to tell my wife about all this, the empty sofa was quietly laughing.
Since yesterday, my wife has been staying at a hotel in the city center for a project.
My heart somehow cannot keep up with the silent air in the room.
Judging by our exchange during the day, my wife seems to be doing well.
When my wife is doing well, our home is bright and peaceful.
Therefore.
This is fine.

(Note 1) Sacchan refers to my wife. Since she is the de facto supreme authority in our home, she is also known as Her Majesty the Queen.
(Note 2) 'Massa' is short for massage. My wife, Sacchan, calls it that. Giving Sacchan a 'massa' is my most important daily routine.
