How I started to feel more at ease with content creation after realizing that 'running out of ideas' doesn't exist
3 things to do when you run out of ideas
“I want to post something, but I can't think of anything...”
I've had moments where I've frozen up like that many times before.
But recently, I started thinking, 'Does running out of ideas actually happen?' and my perspective has changed a little.
Maybe it's not that I don't have ideas, but that I just haven't noticed them yet.
When I looked back with that thought in mind, I realized there were a few things I hadn't been doing.
It's okay to post the same thing over and over
The first thing is 'posting the same content repeatedly'.
I used to be convinced that I had to write something different every time, and I felt that was a hurdle.
But in reality, most people don't remember past posts that well.
If that's the case, it's fine to share important things as many times as needed, and in fact, I think that's how it reaches people better.
Even with the same theme, the way it's perceived changes just by changing the 'angle'.
Thinking about it that way, I felt the scope of my content could expand all at once.
Ideas are scattered throughout daily life
The second thing is 'changing how you look at daily life'.
I realized that even in the daily life I had been spending mindlessly, there are actually many hints for content if I just change my perspective a little.
For example, even with a single event like 'going to a cafe',
if you look back at the details and what happened before and after, there are surprisingly many things you can write about.
Things I usually overlook can become great content if I pick them up properly.
Thinking that way, it seems like the way I spend my daily life might change a little too.
Ideas expand when you make the other person the protagonist
The third thing is 'thinking from the other person's perspective'.
I feel like I had been focusing on 'what I want to convey' somewhere along the line.
But if I do that, there are limits after all.
On the other hand, if you base your content on 'what the other person wants to know', the themes for your posts will naturally expand.
I felt once again that content creation is not so much for myself, but for someone else.
To keep from stopping the flow of content
Looking back, it wasn't that I had no ideas, but rather that:
・I was avoiding repeating myself
・I was overlooking my daily life
・I was thinking too much about myself
These factors might have been the reason I stopped sharing.
From now on, I want to change my perspective a little, stop seeking perfection, and
steadily put my thoughts into words.
