A new CITY POP video is complete.
This time, I've recorded five songs, each depicting a different scene: the beginning of summer, a chance reunion, a Friday night, a sunset on the way home from club activities, and a future shining in silver.
Clean guitars, DX7 electric piano, bouncing bass, and tight 80s drums.
Layered over that are female vocals that build in emotion as the song progresses, with the chorus opening up the view all at once.
The theme is,
Tonight, we outrun the future.
Not to erase hesitation or regret, but to take them with us as we move forward.
I aimed for music that makes you look up just a little bit when you finish listening.
1. Coming Out – The Beginning of Summer
A song about taking the dreams you've hidden in your pocket back out into the world.
A green light, a road after the rain, the smiles of friends.
Summer begins not by waiting for answers to be found, but by starting to run.
2. Summer Chance – Summer-Colored Coincidence
Reuniting with "you" after a long time at a seaside cafe.
It was only supposed to be a short chat, but we ended up on the coastal road.
Amidst the sea breeze and the radio, the time that had stopped for the two of us begins to move again.
3. Friday Voltage – Friday Voltage
A dance funk track that turns Friday night's weakness and hesitation into a beat.
Sharp guitars, a bouncing bass, and a tense A-melody.
It builds up once before exploding into the chorus, making it the most danceable track this time.
4. Sunset Relay
The sunset on the way home from club activities, the sound of bicycle bells, and the voices of friends.
Whether we won or lost, the time we spent walking home together remains.
It is a refreshing CITY POP track that depicts not romance, but the heat of friendship and youth.
5. Silver Mirage
Silver rain, skyscrapers, and lights flowing over the overpass.
It's not about discarding memories or doubts, but carrying them into the future.
Starting with low, restrained vocals, it is a fast-paced song that finally expands as if breaking through to the sky.
What I put into these 5 songs
Starting something.
Meeting again.
Setting yourself free.
The time spent with friends.
Choosing the future while holding onto the past.
The stories and sounds of these 5 songs are all different.
But what they have in common is that it's not about moving forward after becoming strong, butbeing able to choose to take a step even while still lost.
A night on the way home from work.
When you want to change your mood.
A morning when you want to start something again.
