This is part of a Lo-fi series themed around Japan's 47 prefectures. This time, we bring you Gypsy Jazz Lo-fi Hip-Hop set in Fukuoka Prefecture.

The overall theme of the work is "A Little Journey Walking Through Fukuoka."

Starting from a port town, traveling through waterside towns, and finally heading toward the sea at sunset. Rather than a trip efficiently visiting tourist spots, I compiled the time spent walking while savoring the wind, light, and quiet atmosphere of the land into a single story.

In this production, I am highly conscious of not just the music, but the flow of the visuals as well. The video features Lo-fi-chan, a girl who keeps drawing in an atelier with a cat.

Her movements have been updated, and as Lo-fi-chan 2.0, she has gained some subtle changes in her gestures. However, the true protagonist of the work is the scenery of Fukuoka.

Lo-fi-chan stays by your side as a presence that quietly captures that scenery in her drawings.

Chapter 1: The Journey Begins in Mojiko

The first location I chose is Mojiko.

Red brick buildings, historic streets, the promenade leading to the port, and the Blue Wing Moji, beloved as a drawbridge. While each is a landscape that has accumulated a long history, walking through them makes you feel as if you are traveling through a foreign port town.

The genre of Gypsy Jazz carries an air of wanderlust, lightness, and a touch of the exotic.

Mojiko naturally overlapped with that atmosphere.

In the first half of the work, I am conscious of the exhilaration of the "moment the journey begins." The slightly bouncy feeling when you start walking through an unfamiliar town. I have layered that sensation into both the flow of the sound and the visuals.

Chapter 2: The Pace of Walking Changes in Yanagawa

Leaving Mojiko, the scenery becomes calm all at once.

The setting is Yanagawa and the Okihata River.

The promenade along the river, the rows of willow trees, and the townscape reflected on the water's surface. Just watching the boats move slowly, your own walking pace strangely slows down as well.

In this work, this is the midpoint of the journey.

In Mojiko, I depicted the 'joy of a journey beginning,' but in Yanagawa, I cherished the feeling of 'starting to like a town even though it's unfamiliar.'

It's not special because it's a tourist spot; it's just that walking by the water calms the heart. It's a moment where you feel like you've blended into the daily life of that place just a little bit.

I think this was the scene where the gentle space characteristic of Lo-fi and the lightheartedness of Gypsy Jazz overlapped most naturally.

Chapter 3: Ending the Day in Itoshima

Finally, we reach Sakurai Futamigaura in Itoshima.

The seaside promenade where you walk while gazing at the Wedded Rocks in the distance.

As dusk approaches, the color of the sky changes little by little, and a soft light spreads across the surface of the sea.

In a typical trip, this would likely feel like the 'end of the journey,' but this time I gave it a slightly different meaning.

Even though today is coming to an end, looking at this scenery makes me naturally feel like I want to walk on toward the next view.

That kind of positive lingering feeling is the final theme. A journey is not something that ends, but something that continues on.

That feeling became the final scene that wraps up the entire work.

The flow of a day depicted in six tracks

This video is composed of six tracks.

In Mojiko, the lightheartedness of a port town and the atmosphere of setting off. In Yanagawa, the peaceful time spent walking while gazing at the water's surface. And in Itoshima, the quiet lingering feeling left behind by the sunset and the sea breeze.

While maintaining the same Gypsy Jazz Lo-fi Hip-Hop worldview, I structured them so that each has a different expression.

As the townscapes change, the tempo of walking changes, and the air you feel shifts little by little. By listening to the six tracks in succession, I aimed for a flow that allows you to experience a day of strolling.

A journey that could only be depicted because it is Fukuoka

Fukuoka offers more than just the vibrancy of a city; if you venture just a little further, you will find landscapes with completely different expressions.

Port towns, canal districts, and the seaside.

Even though they are far apart, when you line them up as a single day's journey, they connect naturally in a mysterious way.

That is why, this time, I decided not to capture each place individually, but to weave them together into a single story of 'walking through Fukuoka'.

When the scenery changes, the music changes a little, too.

And as the music changes, the same scenery begins to look different. I would be very happy if you could enjoy that kind of time.

Along with the completed illustrations, please take your time and enjoy this small journey walking through the summer of Fukuoka.
