[DQ 1&2 HD-2D Play Notes] #41 Should I ask Mo-kun for help?
In my last adventure notes, I mentioned that
Laure was told repeatedly that he couldn't use spells when he joined the party,
and when I put myself in Laure's shoes,
I felt a bit conflicted about it.
However,
I'll put that matter on hold for now
and head off to meet the black Mo-mon in Berpoe,
which was my other objective,
to see if it knows anything about Rhone.
There's a kid being called Mo-kun,
but it seems it was the black Mo-mon I was planning to defeat.
I asked if it knew anything
about infiltrating Rhone.

Hargon's house?
It's huge.
It's a black Mo-mon, but
after talking with Moon about various things, in the end...
(I'll omit the conversation with Moon)

But don't push yourself, okay?
The black Mo-mon,
it says it will scout for us.
However, from the Hargon Cult's perspective,
it's a spy and a traitor,
so I hope it stays safe.
We were also asked to do one more thing.

That's the place I went to before and got turned away at the gate.
It wants us to go to Tepa
and fulfill a request for Lagos,
who is from Tepa and hiding in the back of this prison.
In the Famicom version, wasn't Lagos
a thief?

The atmosphere is a bit...?
When I went to Tepa last time,
the whole town was under some strange 'curse',
and Mr. Lagos also felt a bit '?!' as well.
Anyway, I'll get the floodgate key from this person
and head to Tepa.

there's no point in saying anything,
so I kept quiet (Laure)
Well, arrived at Tepa.
(Since I'd been here before, I used Zoom to teleport!)
Opening the floodgate.

It's quite large-scale,
so I get the feeling that their technology is also quite advanced.
I went to the Tower of the Moon after opening it,
and since there was something strange there, I defeated it.
(Photo omitted)
After defeating it and going to the upper level,
there was another strange thing...

"Go back to being a child,
be selfish, and make them troubled"
they are saying things like that,
trying to brainwash the adults of Tepa.
??
This is troublesome!
With small children, you can pick them up
and move them, or distract them somehow,
but when they are adult-sized,
the difficulty level goes up quite a bit.
I have to stop this, even if it's the last thing I do!

The reason they are brainwashing adults to turn into children
was as follows.

"According to Lord Bazuzu,
humans are more easily corrupted by evil
when they are brats than when they are adults."
....?
This guy seems to be from the "Bazuzu faction," but
I have absolutely no idea why they are doing something so roundabout,

Don't underestimate child-rearing! (Angry)
The Prince of Lorasia's
iron fist strikes again!
Some of them managed to escape, but
if they had all attacked at once,
it might have been quite dangerous.
Thinking that the Hargon Cult's
purpose is unclear,

The Prince of Cannock seems to have felt the same way.
For now,
I understand that the goal is
"The Hargon Cult wants to make people do bad things."
Even if I don't know the reason?
Also,
it looks like they are "intentionally keeping the organization disorganized,
turning them into a rabble, and making them
turn against each other on purpose."
Now, when you defeat this crow-like boss,
you get the Moon Fragment, but
I don't know where or how to
chase after the ones who escaped earlier,
so I'm heading back to Portha.

the black Moomon, is a huge help!
Well then, I'll head back to Pelpo.
Mo-kun went home and returned to his cell.

According to Mo-kun:
1. To get to Rhone, you must pass through the cave.
- There is a warp portal near the cave.
- I don't know where the corresponding warp portal is.
- To enter the cave, there is a terrifying statue.
2. Mo-kun was part of the "Bazuzu faction".
- Bazuzu is in the island cave, but you can't get close with a normal ship.
- However, you can go if you have the Moon Fragment.
If you talk this much,
won't you get "purged" by the Hargon Cult?

Mo-kun, if you talk this much,
you'll likely be targeted,
so you don't have to work anymore,
I want you to just stay in your cell and be quiet,
I thought, but...

You're still going to work for me!?
He says he'll be waiting
at the warp portal toward Rhone.
This is worrying!
The goals for the next adventure are two:
1. I don't know the location of the corresponding warp portal for Rhone
=> The King of Delcondar might know, so I'll go ask him.
2. To break the curse of Tepa
=> Go to some island, use the Moon Fragment,
chase the escaped "Bazuzu faction",
and destroy the crystal that is the cause of the curse.
No, what I learned this time is that
Mo-kun the black Moomon
is excellent at "reconnaissance and intelligence".
His reports are accurate, too.
Also, if he wanted to,
he could also be active in
"sabotage and disruption".
Placing those who excel at a single skill
in the right place.
That's important, isn't it?
The Prince of Lorasia (can't use spells)
and Mo-kun (low combat power)
are both looked down upon a bit,
but since they excel at a single skill,
I hope they do their best.
The next adventure...
I don't want to go to Delcondar.
