Even once a month is enough. Just take your kids there! There's no need to prepare anything; simply go to the bookstore.

There's no pressure to force them to expand their horizons. Just create an environment where their horizons can naturally broaden.
If they lose interest, that's okay too. If they're bored after 15 minutes, you can leave. The goal is simply to create more opportunities for them to connect with books.
Work-life harmony is a hot topic, but for my kids' YouTube life, a visit to the bookstore feels like the perfect harmony.
