Using the bikke POLAR e (BP0C44) for 1 year and 8 months | What I learned about its usability while transporting two children
This article introduces the 2024 model of the Bridgestone bikke POLAR e (model code: BP0C44).
I purchased it in December 2024 and have been using it to transport my then 5-year-old and 2-year-old children to daycare and for shopping. I will share the actual usability, including the stability, rear child seat, and battery life, which I couldn't fully understand from the catalog alone.
If you have two children under elementary school age, 3-passenger bicycles often require compromises in selection, but I highly recommend this one, so please read until the end.
Electric assist bicycle with 3-passenger child seat: bikke POLAR e
There are many bicycles that can carry one child.
However, it is quite rare to find a 3-passenger bicycle.
I used it every day to take my then 5-year-old and 2-year-old to daycare, and also used it to go to the greengrocer on weekends, so I requested catalogs and looked at various options.
And this is what I bought.

*The type I purchased was a 3-passenger set that came with a rear child seat from the start. The bikke POLAR e unit comes with a front child seat, but you may need to purchase a dedicated rear child seat separately.
As expected from Bridgestone, outstanding stability and peace of mind
The center of gravity balance between the front and rear is exquisite, so there is little wobbling, and I can ride with confidence even when starting or turning.
It was written that this is because the frame is designed with a low center of gravity, and since the tires are also quite thick, I was certainly able to feel that.
The bikke POLAR e also has a long-lasting battery
The battery capacity is 15.4Ah, and the Bridgestone product page states that the range per charge is 63km when used in standard mode.
In my experience, I feel like I charge it about once a month.
I use it frequently, not only for daily daycare drop-offs and pick-ups but also for going to distant supermarkets and greengrocers on weekends, but I don't feel like I have to charge it that often.
A design that has thoroughly considered daily usability
Although our fields are different, as an engineer myself, I respect the people who designed this bicycle✨
It is packed with many clever details for usability.
"The key is hard to insert"
"The handlebars turn when getting children on and off, which is dangerous"
These problems have been properly solved.
In particular, the keyhole on the back of the bike faces upward, making it easy to insert, and it has become my favorite feature after using it.
My previous bicycle had the key mounted on the side, which was extremely difficult for someone large like me (183cm, 86.0kg) in a cramped parking area, but this has made it so much easier🎉
Also, the Temotode Lock II (handlebar lock) is a feature that locks the handlebars so they don't spin around when loading or unloading children. I didn't use it at first, but once I tried it, I thought, "I see, this is reassuring"✨
Also, when the children aren't riding, I can put groceries in the front and back, which is convenient when doing a large grocery run on the weekend.
So, I find it very useful in ways like this.
With gratitude, I would like to salute the people who designed the electric assist bicycle, bikke POLAR e!
