Self-introduction to commemorate reaching over 1,500 followers

Hello, I'm Mitsu!

I have now reached 1,500 followers! Thank you all so much. Since this is a special occasion, I'd like to share a little bit about myself.

Currently, thanks to gadgets and my side hustle, I'm living a life that's a bit free and fun.
I love Apple products and share information as a gadget blogger on note and my blog.

In this article, I'll give you a rough introduction to who I am and what I do, so please feel free to skim through it!

01. Self-introduction

• Name: Mitsu (I just wanted a two-character name, no deep meaning)

• Age: I'm from the generation that watched the anime with the famous quote, 'Equivalent exchange. That is the truth of this world,' in real-time.

• Favorite alcohol: I especially like highballs, but I'll drink anything.

• Hobbies: I enjoy drinking alone, eating yakiniku alone, side hustles, manga, and foreign dramas.

• Personality: Generally calm and not a fan of conflict. I like my alone time, but I also enjoy drinking parties.

02. Encounter with gadgets

The first Apple product I bought was an iPhone. After that, I bought an iPad because I wanted to enjoy manga and videos anywhere. That was the beginning of it all.

When I attached a keyboard to my iPad and started writing on note 'just because,' I found it fun, so I even tried my hand at a WordPress blog. Before I knew it, I was earning enough from my side hustle to cover my food expenses.

Now, I've become wealthy enough to buy new gadgets like the MacBook Air M4 and iPad mini A17 Pro without hesitation. But actually, I've never even touched an Android device—that's how biased I am. I'm a gadget blogger with a very strong love for Apple products (especially the iPad).

03. My main job is a 'laid-back employee'

I work at a reasonably well-known IT company in Tokyo. Honestly, I think I just lucked my way in (lol).

My work ability is below average. I'm not struggling for money, so my goal is to be a "laid-back employee" who works without stress and aims to keep a low profile and work for a long time without stress.

If I work too seriously, I just get assigned more work and more responsibility, so I prefer a position like Yoshikage Kira.

"A life like a plant," "a quiet life"—those are great words.

Currently, I don't touch my main salary and live off my side income. Recently, stock prices have fallen due to US tariff measures, and my assets have taken a significant hit (a loss of nearly 5 million yen as of 2025/04/09 😭)... but I'm still living happily!

04. How my side hustle changed my life

When I started my note and blog, I thought, "If I could earn 10,000 yen a month, my life would change." But in reality, I'm now able to pay for my meals and buy things I want just from my side income.

Now, I even receive products from manufacturers, and sometimes things I thought "I want this" just show up. I thought that only happened to YouTubers, so I was surprised that it happens with blogs and note as well.

05. Gadget review style

The point of my reviews is that they don't sound like an expert's (though I'm not an expert to begin with 😇).

Instead of just listing the specs written on the official website, I try to convey my real impressions after actually using the product, saying things like "This part is the best!" or "This part is a bit meh..."

Also, I like a style with fewer words and more photos of the actual product. I write individual product articles, but I love writing and reading summary articles more. I often read review articles on note as well.

However, even if an article says "I'm glad I bought this" or "Things I purchased," if there isn't a single photo of the actual item (do they really own it?), no matter how many views it has, I quietly close it (because it leaves me feeling uneasy 😇).

And... even though I'm writing some dark comments, basically there are many wonderful gadget lovers on note, and I'm always moved by the warmth of that community. I want to continue sharing the "fun" with everyone!

06. Hobbies and lifestyle

My hobbies are simple. Watching manga or videos on my iPad at a cafe or on the train. That alone is enough to satisfy me! I'm not interested in expensive hobbies, and I also love the time spent drinking while eating alone (solo izakaya, solo yakiniku, or at family restaurants) 😇

My current favorite gadgets are the MacBook Air M4 and the iPad mini A17 Pro. Both are excellent, but I am always impressed by the portability of the iPad.

There are probably many people who do this, but if you see someone on the train enjoying manga or dramas on an iPad, it might be me.
