[Birth Report 1] A pregnant woman who had a cervical conization and threatened premature labor. The story of how the day I thought was prodromal labor turned out to be the day of birth
During my pregnancy, I was always anxious.
Because a few years ago,
I had a cervical conization,
my cervical length had become short.
And during my pregnancy,
I was put on bed rest due to threatened premature labor.
In fact, due to the effects of the conization,
my cervical length was short throughout the entire pregnancy,
and I was on the verge of being hospitalized.
The story of my threatened premature labor isa long one,
so I won't write about it here,
but I will record it someday✍️
Anyway,
at 38 weeks and 2 days of pregnancy, which I spent with anxiety
At the time, I
was thinking, "In terms of school grade, I'd prefer to give birth in April if possible."
I thought.
My daughter's due date was in early April.
But at the end of March, what seemed like labor pains began.
Looking back now, my daughter, who was born early in the year, is
incredibly cute!
But at the time,
"I wish she could just stay in my belly for a few more days..."
I was seriously thinking things like that.
To give you the result, she was born that very day.
But I had no way of knowing that on that day...
5:00 AM
When I went to the bathroom, I saw a bloody show!
"Maybe a few more days!"
I thought, feeling excited as I went back to sleep.
6:00 AM
My stomach started to hurt.
However, the pain wasn't that strong.
It was about as painful as a heavy period.
"Ouch..."
I would say, but I could still talk normally, walk around, and lie down.
Plus, the intervals were irregular, sometimes 12 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes.
Since I had experienced false labor before,
I assumed this was just false labor again.
While I was in pain,
my husband was off that day, so
we chatted,
ate donuts,
watched TV,
and spent the time relaxing...
...before I knew it, 12 hours had passed since the pain started.
Only then did I finally
think,
Wait, could this be real labor?
Could it actually be active labor?
That's what I started to think.
Hmm, I don't think I'll make it to April.
If I give birth today or tomorrow, that's a holiday fee...
No way, labor pain shouldn't be just this much, right?
I was being laid-back, thinking things like that.
My husband also
"You certainly still seem to have some leeway."
he said with a laugh.
That was a total flag.
6:00 PM
Even though the pain wasn't that strong, the intervals started to drop below 10 minutes.
Just in case, I called the maternity clinic.
Then,
"Since it's your first birth, it's hard to tell, but please come in once."
they said.
That's when I suddenly started to panic.
Wait, what?
Could this actually be real labor?
No, but the pain is weak...
But the hospital told me to come in...
The first thing I did, regardless,
was to defrost the high-quality meat
I had decided I would definitely eat when labor started. 🥩
I absolutely could not compromise on this.
My appetite remained strong until the very end, lol
I had my husband grill it for me,
and I ate a good, hearty meal.
I actually wanted to soak in the bathtub too, but
I was in such a rush I didn't have the luxury of time.
Instead, I just showered my lower body.
"I want to look at least a little presentable..."
That was the last shred of modesty I had left...
6:30 PM
I headed to the maternity clinic with my bags.
Even at this point, I
didn't think I would give birth today.
I was thinking.
My husband and I
were talking about how,
"We might get sent back home, you know~"
The pain was still completely bearable.
I could still eat,
I could change my clothes,
and I could still hold a normal conversation.
However.
The way things unfolded after arriving at the maternity clinic
was far beyond what I had imagined...!
Thank you for reading this far.
At the time, I never expected that
about two hours after arriving at the clinic,
my daughter would be born at such lightning speed...
What I felt during this birth was
that labor doesn't always get stronger slowly.
Next time,
I will write about the super-speed birth,
which surprised even me the most.
On X, I loosely record things about childcare, pumping, and the daily life of a new mom.
I tweet a lot while pumping at night, so if there is anyone else working hard during those same hours, please join me🌙
