I will be exhibiting a small ZINE at the "Small Voices, Small Books Exhibition."

A thrilling announcement from Kuma no Muffin.

One day, while walking through the streets of note, I noticed the sound of the wind.
It was an article about the "Small Voices, Small Books" exhibition hosted by KAZENONE BOOK.
The "Small Voices, Small Books" exhibition was the subject of the article. I felt quite lucky to have discovered this event just as I had a ZINE I had started making in my hands, and I even felt a touch of destiny. And so, I will be exhibiting one small picture book ZINE that fits in the palm of your hand.

📖 Event Overview
Dates: August 7 (Thu) – August 17 (Sun), 2025
Venue: HAGISO (Yanaka, Tokyo) @hagiso_2013
3-10-25 Yanaka, Taito-ku, Tokyo
Organizer: KAZENONE BOOK @kazenone.book

📖 What kind of event is it?
It is an exhibition and sales event featuring ZINEs born from personal feelings, emotions, and small impulses, as well as books from small publishers and indie labels.
"It's okay if no one reads it."
"It's okay if it doesn't turn into words well."
But, I "couldn't help but write it."
We will introduce books that contain such "feelings of creation."

📖 Main Theme of the Exhibition
"The ZINE I wanted"
・Books written for myself
・Books I wanted to deliver to my past self
・Books aimed at just one person

A dining cafe and gallery renovated from Hagiso, a wooden apartment building nearly 70 years old.
Minimal cultural complex HAGISO

HAGISO is a cafe I've always wanted to visit because the meals and desserts look so delicious.
To think that books with such diverse voices will gather in this space.
I can't wait for the day I go to the event.

            ✳︎

A ZINE that I printed and bound repeatedly as practice
I suddenly worry if it's okay to submit this
Because the size is almost that of a postcard
And although it is in color, it is only 12 pages long

I had the idea to include an envelope just the right size for the book
So I bought a Kuretake handmade envelope template at Sekaido
And some night-sky colored construction paper (navy blue Mermaid paper)

It turned out
quite
nice

Since it is summer
I decided to include a special bright-colored postcard
as a bonus

I put it in a clear bag
and dressed it up with masking tape and stickers

The stationery team I used this time includes
Masking tape I found at the Stationery Girls Expo
Yohaku's Andromeda
PILOT's juice up 0.4 gold
And 100-yen shop stickers that you can write on with a pencil
which I colored with color ink

Nervous > Excited

Just looking at the names on the list of exhibitors makes me excited, but the fact that my nervousness won't stop is surely something that won't change even during the event.

Yanaka in Taito Ward, Tokyo, is a charming town with old folk-house cafes, general stores, old streetscapes, art spots, and plenty of cats.
I would be happy if you could stop by the small book event while you are out for a walk.
