I cry while looking back on parenting after reading 'Anna ni Anna ni'.
I shed a tear after reading the picture book 'Anna ni Anna ni'.
It is a work by Shinsuke Yoshitake, who has produced wonderful picture books like 'It Might Be an Apple'.
He is someone who writes about the daily life of parenting in such a precious and funny way.
My child likes it and reads it over and over again.
This morning, while listening to my child reading it aloud beside me,
and struggling to peel the gauze off my younger child's finger,
my younger child muttered, 'Memories'.
When I replied 'Yeah' while tearing up,
I was asked, 'Are you going to cry?'
They see right through me!!!
My younger child is only three years old, you know?!
My child reading the picture book in clumsy words,
me struggling to peel off the gauze during the busy morning while listening to that,
thinking that every single moment spent with my children will become a memory,
and getting teary-eyed because of that,
all of it, all of it, is a memory of parenting!!!
My children read everything from my expression without me saying a word.
My children cherish the memories I cherish just as much.
I am so grateful.
Those days that were so tough,
the day will surely come when they are 'like this' already.
I know that, but let me say it for now.
'Hurry up and eat your food!!!!!!!!!!'
