A phrase from a meeting that stayed with me

Previously, during a company meeting, there was a discussion about how the spirit of


"If I'm going to do it, I'll do it gladly!" is important.

It sounds simple, but it's surprisingly difficult...

Since we tend to idealize ourselves, we might think we are doing it when we actually aren't.

Is a sour look unconscious!?

When I ask someone for something, I find that it's surprisingly common for them to make a sour face.

I suppose it's partly because I'm sensitive to those things, but...

For example...

When I'm cooking and the tissues run out,

I have to turn off the heat, wipe my wet hands... and go to the designated place to get them.

At times like that, if my son happens to be lying around watching TV,

"Hey, could you go get me some tissues?"

That's how the conversation usually goes, right? lol

I wish he would just go get them without a fuss, but

"Ugh, wait a second!"

When he says that in a grumpy tone, I get annoyed too.

"Fine, never mind!"

When I say that and try to go get them myself,

he hurriedly stands up and brings them over as if he's angry...

Don't you have patterns like this? lol

If you're going to go get it anyway,
if you could just go do it with a good attitude,
I'd be able to thank you kindly, you know! (laughs)

A common issue at work:
The 'it shows on your face' problem

At work, too,
I sometimes encounter similar situations.

When I'm busy and short-handed,

and I ask a part-timer or temp staff,

'Could you help me out for a moment?'

sometimes they give me a look of annoyance.

They probably don't even realize it themselves.

They don't mean any harm,
it just shows on their face.

They end up helping me anyway,
so when I thank them,
they reply with a smile,

'No problem at all,'
but still,

that initial
'annoyed reaction'
does stick with you a little, doesn't it?

Even if the action is the same,
the impression is completely different!

On the other hand,
there are people who,

when you ask them,
accept it with a good attitude!

Even though both people help in the same way,
doesn't the impression of

'they did it with a good attitude'
stay with you much more?

'They looked annoyed but
eventually did it'

as opposed to

'They accepted it gladly and did it'

the feeling you get is completely different!

Some people,
even without me asking,

will sense that I'm busy
'Shall I help you?'
and offer to help.

When you need to ask for something next time,
don't you think you'd rather ask the person who responded with a good attitude?

I feel grateful for people who always do things willingly,
and
if they are in trouble,

I also feel like
'I want to help them!'

After all,
the more you make others happy, the more you are liked by them,
and you will be treated with care, right?

Do I think I am
doing this myself too!?

'If I'm going to do it, I'll do it gladly!'

I think this
is not just for someone else's sake,

but also for my own sake.

People who act willingly
give a good impression to those around them,

and in the end,
they become people who are trusted and helped.

I myself
don't think I make a sour face,
but from other people's perspective,

there might be times when I'm not doing it!?

'Observe others to correct your own behavior'
as they say,

when someone makes a slightly sour face at me,

I want to use it as a trigger to remember,
'Am I doing the same thing?'

If you're not going to do it, that's fine, but
if you're going to do it anyway...
