From the end of June to the beginning of July.
For this week, as the season gradually heads toward summer,
I have selected 15 songs to help organize the rhythm of your daily life.
This This Week’s Air is a playlist centered on city pop and mellow pop music.
The themes are:
- Cherishing daily life (Calendar: Sensho, Tei)
- Welcoming a new flow (Calendar: Tomobiki, Shu)
- Organizing (Calendar: Senbu, Ken, Tsukitoku-nichi, Kuro-bi)
- Regaining composure (Calendar: Butsumetsu, Ki, Daimichi, Kamiyoshi-nichi)
- Growing gently (Calendar: Taian, Sei, Bosho-nichi)
Rather than changing something in a big way,
it is a week to let a little bit of a fresh breeze blow through your current life.
Music to quietly wrap up June,
and to naturally step into July.
6/29 (Mon) | Cherishing daily life
Sensho, Tei | No specific lucky or unlucky days
Fortune: A day to stay calm, establish a foundation, and keep your own pace.
The start of the week begins by cherishing your daily life.
This day is 'Tei' in the Twelve Direct Days.
There is a flow of stabilizing things and setting a foundation. Rather than moving in a big way, treating your usual life with care is a day when it is easy to steady your footing.
I placed
go!go!vanillas 'LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL' at the center.
It is a song that has a warmth within its brightness that affirms daily life.
The following Nico Segal 'Sunday Candy' adds a gentleness like the lingering memory of a holiday, and SIRUP 'Magic' casts a light, magical spell on your daily life.
This is a day where you don't have to do anything special.
Spend your usual morning, your usual path, and your usual time with just a little more care.
Just by doing that, the start of the week will be gently organized.
6/30 (Tue) | Welcoming a new flow
Tomobiki, Shu | No specific lucky or unlucky days
Fortune: A day to mark a milestone and quietly prepare for the next month.
The last day of June.
This day is the 'Toru' (Receive) of the Twelve Direct Days.
There is a flow of receiving something, keeping it at hand, and connecting it to the next step. While it is a day of endings, it is also a day to quietly prepare for the next beginning.
The main track is
Nulbarich 'NEW ERA'.
Just as the title suggests, there is a sense of welcoming a new atmosphere.
However, it is not a strength that changes everything suddenly, but a change where the view opens up naturally.
cero 'Summer Soul' carries the humidity and lightness heading toward summer, and
NewJeans 'Super Shy' makes you feel a little bit of shyness and anticipation at the entrance of a new season.
This day is for looking back on June and choosing what you want to take into July.
You don't have to carry everything with you as you move forward.
Quietly keep only what fits the next flow at hand.
7/1 (Wed) | Organize
Sakimake (Bad luck in the morning) / Ken (Establish) | Getsutoku-nichi (Moon Virtue Day) / Kuro-bi (Black Day)
Fortune: A day to prioritize caution and set a foundation without rushing.
The beginning of July.
The Twelve Direct Day is 'Ken' (Establish).
It is a day with the power to start new things, but this day also overlaps with Sakimake and a Black Day. Rather than moving forward on momentum alone, it is a day where it is important to first carefully set your foundation.
I chose
ohashiTrio 'HONEY' as the main track.
A song with a soft, sweet, yet calm atmosphere.
It fits perfectly with the feeling of 'organizing' needed for the start of July.
Yogee New Waves 'Summer of love' adds a sense of openness to the start of summer, and
HUNTR/X 'Golden' is like light shining into a new month.
However, the light on this day is not something to rush to grab,
but something that becomes visible only after you have first set your footing.
Don't pack your schedule too full; organize your life and your feelings.
It is a quiet start to a day for beginning July comfortably.
7/2 (Thu) | Regain Calmness
Butsumetsu (Buddha's Death) / Ki (Danger) | Daimichi (Great Bright Day) / Kamiyoshi-nichi (God-Blessed Day)
Fortune: A day where you can naturally return to a stable flow if you proceed carefully.
This is a day to spend with a little extra caution.
The Twelve Direct Day is 'Ki' (Danger).
While it is easy to become unstable if you push yourself, it also overlaps with Daimichi and Kamiyoshi-nichi. If you proceed carefully, it is a day where you can find a bright direction even within the darkness.
The main track is
Momoko Kikuchi's "Night Cruising".
It has a quiet sense of floating, like drifting slowly through the night city.
It is a song that helps you calm down, without rushing or feeling impatient.
Friday Night Plans' "Plastic Love" adds an urban lingering note and a touch of melancholy, while iri's "Mellow Light" lights a soft glow within your heart.
On this day, it is better to slow down a little rather than forcing yourself to move forward.
Take a deep breath. Listen to music on your way home.
Spend your evening time quietly.
By regaining your composure, the flow will naturally stabilize.
7/3 (Fri) | Gentle Harvest
Taian (Great Peace) / Naru (Success) | Bosho-nichi (Mother's Day)
Fortune: A day when things you have accumulated gradually take shape, and you find more room in your heart.
The end of the week is a day of gentle harvest.
The 'Junichoku' (twelve-day cycle) is 'Naru' (Success).
There is a flow where things easily come to fruition and take shape. Furthermore, with Taian and Bosho-nichi overlapping, it is a day that feels like it gently supports what you have been nurturing.
I have chosen
Asako Toki's "Gift ~Anata wa Madonna~" as the main track.
It is bright and glamorous, yet not overbearing.
It is a song that feels like it delivers a small gift to your heart at the end of the week.
EPO's "DOWN TOWN" brings a lightness for heading out into the city, and
Surfaces' "Sunday Best" lets you feel a positive space as you head toward the weekend.
This is a day to acknowledge yourself for your hard work.
Even if it is not a major achievement, there must be things you have organized, continued, or overcome.
While receiving the gentle harvest, you head toward the weekend.
Closing
Music may not change the fortune of the day.
But,
it can sometimes help tune the rhythm of your heart for the day.
The calendar is not something that determines the future, but
a small hint for thinking about how to spend today.
By choosing music that matches the flow of the day,
it becomes a little easier to breathe.
From June to July.
Walking into a new season while cherishing our daily lives.
Here are 15 songs to accompany such a week.
