To Empathize, You Need Breathing Room! ~Efficiency to Create Breathing Room~
In the relationship between a boss and a subordinate, active listening and dialogue are said to be important.
To listen actively, empathy is important, and so on.
Well, even if you tell me to empathize...
Is that the kind of trouble people on the front lines are having?
Busyness and workload are not proportional.
The front lines always seem busy.
It's like you have to look busy, or else (laughs).
If you look like you have free time, people think you aren't working.
Do you have that kind of obsession?
Since I was young, I've always looked relatively free.
I was thinking quite a lot, but I didn't show it much.
I always kept my own pace and looked cool and collected,
and people called me a nonchalant guy.
I don't think you can do good work when you're completely packed with time.
When I see people who look busy, I don't think it looks very cool,
and I feel like I had a desire not to become like that.
You can't empathize without breathing room.
If you don't have breathing room in terms of time and spirit, you lose your awareness.
You should have noticed, but you let it slide.
It's like, I don't have the room to react to every little thing.
When your awareness decreases, empathy is naturally impossible.
I like to dig deep and think about the trivial things of daily life.
I analyze my awareness and let my thoughts wander to root causes and problem structures.
It's a somewhat analytical way of thinking.
It would be nice if I could take it a step further and honestly accept facts by saying, "I see."
Breathing room (prerequisite) → Awareness (don't judge) → Empathy (accept)
Is that the kind of flow?
Efficiency to create breathing room.
To create breathing room in terms of time and spirit,
what could we do?
The popular topic of improving efficiency through IT/DX
. First, improve efficiency to create breathing room in time
. I think starting there is fine.
The purpose of DX might lie beyond that, but
I think it's okay to decide to first create breathing room and then think about it.
Stop doing simple tasks that humans don't actually need to do
Free yourself from boring work
This seems like it would lead to mental breathing room
Use your free time to try things freely!
There are people who get restless when they have free time
I wonder why? It's a mystery to me...
They should just relax and look like they have nothing to do (laughs)
If you have breathing room, you can properly listen to others
You can empathize
You can observe
You can take a step back and feel the overall flow
You can feel and notice various things, and generate new ideas
I really think that having time where you can do whatever you want is important
Having about 20% free time is a natural state
I have even more
I clear my schedule to create the breathing room to empathize
