The mindset of improvement through ingenuity is the source of innovation
It seems yesterday's article was popular.
Thank you very much!
If I break it down into elements...
Making work interesting (a mindset and style)
Controlling your own work and expanding your scope of discretion
Devising your own ways of working (taking ownership of work, proactivity)
The premise that there is room for improvement in everything
When the results of trying something with a little ingenuity lead to good outcomes, it's genuinely gratifying (laughs)
The importance and fun of an improvement mindset and hypothesis testing
I think there are elements like these.
Observation and Insight
I have been a fan of breaking things down since I was a child.
Starting with taking things apart,
I have a tendency to break down and observe human relationships and events as well.
From the whole to the details,
from observation to insight,
this back-and-forth movement of thought is something I do all the time.
Imagination and Creativity
The moment you see something and wonder, 'Why?'
The imagination to form a hypothesis, thinking, 'Is it like this because of that?'
When I think about the causes of things that bother me a little,
I notice the possibility that changing the premise slightly could change the result significantly.
Changing the premise (cause) → obtaining the expected outcome (result)
I try to visualize the set of cause and effect as a hypothesis.
Expanding my imagination.
Imagination is a power everyone possesses.
When we were children, we must have imagined all sorts of strange things,
but as we become adults, we tend to mellow out in a way.
If you use your imagination like a child,
creativity will emerge infinitely.
The desire to improve is the starting point of taking ownership
Once you notice the possibilities, you will want to improve
I think the desire to improve is the starting point of taking ownership
If you are satisfied with how things are now, then they stay that way, but
if you have a desire to make things better, you can grow and evolve
When I see something, I want to look for points to improve
I believe improvement and innovation are continuous
First, improvement
Beyond that, great innovation awaits
Thinking about things like that makes me grin (laughs)
Is this an innovation temperament?
