"What makes someone memorable?"

When you hear the phrase
・Someone who stays in your memory
,

whose face
comes to mind?

It might be a celebrity or an athlete,
an idol or a popular singer,

a family member or a loved one,
a friend from university or a club,
a colleague or boss at work,
or perhaps a junior colleague.

I think the people who leave an impression or
stay in our memories differ from person to person.

Why do you think
that person
stays in your memory?

There must be some reason
why they remain
in your memory.

People who stay in our memory are likely those who:
・Evoke emotions
・Are remembered through actions or experiences
・Are beneficial to remember

These can be considered
as reasons.

For example,
・Evoking emotions means
"a first love," "a favorite idol," "an ideal person,"
"someone who stirs up strong emotions,"
"someone you gave a lot of affection or thought to," etc...

People with whom you had a significant emotional connection
are likely to become people who stay in your memory.

On the other hand,
・People remembered through actions or experiences
are those with whom you shared memorable episodes

while engaging in the same activities or relationships,
and you might remember them deeply
along with that situation.

"Someone you met at a place you visited for the first time,"
"a motorcycle touring buddy," "someone from the same club,"
"a colleague you worked on a big project with," and so on.

Sometimes, actions become impressions,
and you remember them
in conjunction with that.

And finally,
・People who are beneficial to remember,
but for people you interact with personally,

they might have taught you useful knowledge or skills,
or helped you gain a lot of experience.

Because things like providing significant financial support
or introducing you to acquaintances
that are beneficial or helpful to you
tend to leave a lasting impression.

Someone with that kind of special image
is likely to become a memorable person.

Based on this,
people who do not leave a lasting impression on others
• Do not appeal to emotions
• Do not share actions or experiences
• Do not offer much in the way of benefits or advantages

It can be said that they have
these characteristics.

Indeed, when you list them out,
even if you meet such people,
for some reason, they don't leave an impression,
and I feel like
I forget them in an instant.

If you, too,
want to become
a memorable person,

• By delivering emotions, actions, experiences, or benefits
to the other person,

you might be able to become
an even more impressive person than you are now.
