You can ignore work-related anxiety for 'now'. The Lock-On Law for choosing the future without escaping to the past
"What should I do about my future career..."
"Is it okay to just keep going like this..."
You worry about such anxieties every day, but if you look back, aren't you living the same life you were last year?
Hello, I'm Shou Mori!
Truth be told, I was worrying about the exact same thing until 2015.
However, by thoroughly learning and practicing mind coaching, I was able to escape from those depressing days.
Now, I am independent, doing what I want to do, living happily every day, and as a coach, I face the worries and goals of many people.
And, through my own experience and talking with my clients, I feel something strongly.
That is,
The future will definitely come someday, for better or worse, and you can never escape to the past, no matter how much you wish for it.
That is what I mean.
That is precisely why, while wishing for the best future, we have no choice but to live 'this very moment' to the fullest, right?
That is what I think.
Whether you worry or not, the future will definitely come.
Around us, there are
"Those days were fun..."
"I should have done more of what I wanted to do back then..."
surprisingly many people who live in the 'now' while wanting to return to the past.
But, unfortunately, there is no Doraemon in this world, so no matter how much money you pay, you cannot return to the past.
And the future will definitely come, whether you take action or not.
Even if you keep worrying and don't take a single step, there are still about 40 days left in 2026, and 2030 will definitely arrive in a few years, right?
Whether you lament, take action, or do nothing, the future will come before you.
And no matter how much you wish to 'escape to the past,' the past moves further away with every passing moment.
This could be called the fundamental principle of this world.
In other words, just worrying about 'future anxiety' only results in wasting the most important time in your life: 'now'.
Why do things become reality when you focus your consciousness on 'anxiety'?
In the book 'Affirmation' by Lou Tice, the originator of coaching, there is an example like this.
A husband who is told by his wife, 'Be careful not to get into an accident,' becomes more likely to cause an accident because he focuses on 'having to be careful not to get into an accident.'
Doesn't this make you nervous?
When I first read it, I was incredibly nervous, and I was often told, 'Be careful because you will fail at X.'
Moreover, that often became reality... (sweat)
It's scary, isn't it?
Our 'unconscious (subconscious)' does not logically distinguish between 'good' and 'bad'.
Then what does it use as a standard for judgment?
It is the 'importance' to you.
In mind coaching, there are terms called 'lock-on' and 'lock-out'.
When you 'lock on to something (focus your consciousness),' it means your unconscious recognizes that 'this is important to me.'
Whether it is good or bad in realistic terms is irrelevant there.
And the unconscious urges you to take action in order to make what it recognizes as 'important' a reality.
Are you locked on to 'anxiety'?
Many people have vague anxieties about the future or negative desires like 'I don't want this to happen'.
But please remember.
The subconscious does not judge 'good or bad'. It judges 'what you are always thinking about' as 'important'.
In other words, the more you lock on to the anxiety that 'the future is uncertain...', the more your subconscious misunderstands it as 'anxiety is important!', and it works to make you experience that anxious reality or worst-case scenario on purpose.
Perhaps, like me in the past, you may have had the experience where 'something I was worried about actually happened'.
That isn't because you are 'unlucky' or 'don't have good fortune', it's simply that you were locking on to the wrong thing.
What's important is 'what you choose now'
That is why we need to think seriously about 'what to be conscious of and what to remove from our consciousness (lock out)'.
In other words,
why don't you stop focusing only on anxiety about the future and things you don't want to happen?
And,
the future has infinite possibilities. What kind of future do you really want to choose?
That is what it comes down to.
After all, if the future is coming anyway and what you lock on to will become reality anyway, don't you think it's overwhelmingly more beneficial to lock on to 'fun things' and 'happy things'?
'But, the anxiety won't go away...'
That's true.
That is exactly why,
'I am allowed to live a fun life doing what I want to do'
You must 'decide' that and 'give yourself permission' for it.
And to live with that mindset, you control your self-talk (the chatter in your head) and intentionally change the target you lock onto with your consciousness.
It is often thought that 'it is a Want to (something you want to do) because it is fun,' but it is the other way around.
It becomes fun because you decide to 'make it a Want to'.
Because the present is the best, the past becomes the best, and because the future is the best, the present becomes the best.
Therefore, the flow of time is not
Past → Present → Future
but rather,
Future → Present → Past
. There is no reverse.
Remember that cause and effect are always the opposite of common sense.
If you do not act now, the future will not change.
And here is the most important thing.
Even if you say the future is coming, you should not lock onto that alone and neglect the 'now'.
'If the future is coming whether I act or not, I don't need to bother taking action, right?'
Some people might think that, but that is wrong.
What you think about in your head (information space) can only be brought down into reality (physical space) by actually 'taking action'.
Because many people neglect this 'action,' they escape from reality into spiritual or fairy-tale ideas that 'wishing makes it come true'.
The future you 'want to' achieve is not something someone else will grant for you.
Let's go and seize it with your own hands!
'But, I can't do it until I have a perfect image of it...'
That is the standard excuse of someone like my former self who stays in the status quo forever.
No matter how much you imagine it in your head, in the very end, 'you won't know until you try'.
So, 'just trying it out' is perfectly fine.
Of course, because you don't know, there is also anxiety.
But that anxiety can also be said to be 'proof that you are trying to step outside of your current situation'.
So when anxiety arises, please praise yourself by saying, 'Oh, I'm challenging myself!'
And after praising yourself, keep taking 'action' to realize your ideal future.
That is exactly what Lou Tice calls,
'seizing opportunities and leaving no room for escape'
and
'aligning your goals with your attitude'
is all about.
What are you locked onto right now?
Since the future is coming anyway, why not lock onto something happy and live 'now' to the fullest?
