Knocking on the door to an unknown world
Hello☀️
Thank you for visiting✨
I'm Yuruko, and I'm currently in the middle of trying to conceive.
It's suddenly gotten cold, hasn't it?⛄
I don't actually dislike the cold, but I'll be sure to take care of my health.
I hope you all stay warm and take care of yourselves too.😸
I was ready to knock on the door of a fertility clinic, but first, I had to consider which hospital to go to.
I searched for #tryingtoconceive on Instagram and was shocked to learn that some clinics are so crowded that you have to wait for about three hours.
The closest one is best.
Looking at their website, they didn't seem bad.
However, when I read the blogs of people who go there, they said you have to wait outside standing up.
Since I was planning to go in the summer, waiting outside in such heat would be tough (is this some kind of concert...?!)
In the end, I chose a clinic a short train ride away. Being within my commuter pass zone is a big plus!
Also, the fact that it specializes in fertility treatment was an important point for me.✌️
Once I made the reservation online, a medical questionnaire was sent to me via email. The number of questions was huge!! Haha
And the number of questions on the male side's questionnaire was so small!! Haha
Finally, on the day of my appointment, I knocked on the door of the clinic!!
When I entered the clinic, it was clean and bright.✨️
It was actually different from what I had imagined.
Here is what I did on the day.
Installed the clinic's app
Had a consultation with the doctor as a couple
Internal examination (chlamydia test)
Blood tests (blood draw during the luteal phase, thyroid hormone blood draw)
Explanation about insurance coverage
Payment
I didn't expect to have my blood drawn on the very first day!🩸
But I realized that fertility clinics aren't as intimidating as I thought, and I felt I could have gone sooner.
What the doctor emphasized strongly was,
that it's not about my convenience or my husband's convenience,
but that everything is adjusted to the state of the eggs and the cycle!
My next visit was decided, and
I felt like I could see a light at the end of the tunnel by starting to go to the fertility clinic, clearing up the hazy feelings I had inside.✨
Next time, I'll bring you "Is it really infertility after all..."
