I was afraid of being seen as 'just in it for the money,' so I hesitated to keep publishing paid articles
To be honest,
I was quite hesitant about continuing to publish paid articles.
“Won't people think I'm just in it for the money?”
“Won't the people who have been reading my work leave?”
I thought about it over and over again, right up until the moment I pressed the post button.
—
Even so, there is a reason why I dared to publish paid articles.
The reason is very simple.
Up until now, I have written about:
・Stories about almost impulse buying
・Stories about almost regretting an expensive purchase
・Stories about almost paying a large sum of money for a side job
In all of these,
I have written about the “real moments when I was conflicted about money decisions.”
And then I realized:
“Wouldn't this ‘decision-making process’ itself
become valuable if I summarized it properly?”
—
Just because I made it paid,
doesn't mean I'm offering flashy know-how.
However, what I am writing is:
・How I paused when I was conflicted
・How I calmed myself down
・Why I ultimately chose that decision
Regarding those things,
I am writing honestly about the thought process itself, even the parts I wouldn't write for free.
—
In free articles, I cover the “trigger.”
In paid articles, I cover the “substance of the decision.”
By drawing this line,
I was able to feel convinced myself.
—
If there is anyone who:
・Ends up buying things and regretting it
・Often gets tired of making decisions
・Sometimes feels uneasy about money
If you are such a person,
I would be happy if you read this with the mindset of
“I guess there is this way of thinking too.”
From now on, I will continue to
write honestly about what I have actually struggled with, thought about, and chosen,
from the perspective of how to create a state where you don't have to make decisions.
