My First Minpaku Experience✨ Thoughts After Talking to the Owner!!
I couldn't find a place to stay during Golden Week,
but I finally found an Airbnb minpaku hotel.
It was my first time staying at a minpaku where the owner also stays on-site, and it was absolutely wonderful✨
I have to record my thoughts before I forget them!
✓ People who enjoy interacting with others
✓ People who want to find a place (or owner) that excites them
✓ People who are interested in running a minpaku themselves
I thought this type of owner-hosted minpaku
would be perfect for people like that.
The minpaku facility our family stayed at
was located at the foot of Mount Fuji.

It seems it was originally a company retreat or something similar,
so the building was a sturdy, Western-style structure.
This alone created an extraordinary atmosphere that heightened the excitement.
Nearby, there were pastures, waterfalls,
and a scenic spot with a view of Mount Fuji,
giving us a full sense of satisfaction
of having truly come on a trip!!!

And the owner was,
believe it or not, a mom raising a 0-year-old baby✨
Her husband, her mother, and her mother's friend also came to welcome us. At first, the kids were surprised and confused by the atmosphere, which was different from the hotels we usually stay at, but soon they started to enjoy it, saying it felt fun like staying at someone's house!!
Outside, there was plenty of greenery and insects that kids love,
so as soon as we arrived, they went outside with nets
to look for bugs.
While we were chatting about this and that,
the minpaku owner
showed interest and listened to them, saying,
“You know so much about bugs! Wow, that’s amazing!”
and my sons looked very satisfied.
It wasn't just about staying there;
the interaction warmed my heart.
I was very interested in the fact that a mom was running a minpaku,
so I asked her things like,
What made you decide to start a minpaku?
How did you find the property?
What kind of guests come here? How do you manage the operations?
I wanted to ask so many things, and when I did, she answered them all carefully.
That’s when I realized,
to make your dreams come true,
encounters, timing, and the desire to do it are essential!!
that is.
Know what you love,
and if you want to do it, speak up and take action!
That is the path to realizing your dreams!
I felt that deeply from the story of the mom who runs the minpaku.
One night felt like a waste,
I wanted to stay for a while longer
and talk about many more things.
The host mother
also gave me lots of recommendations for spots to visit.
I couldn't get around to everything in one trip, so
I hope I can go back again!
When you have such warm interactions,
you really want to come back to see them again...!
It seems like they even have repeat guests who feel that way,
and those kinds of connections sound wonderful!
So, that was my story about how
staying at a Minpaku at the foot of Mt. Fuji
was more than just a place to sleep,
but an experience filled with interaction and new discoveries.
Thank you for reading until the end.
