Don't Get Tired of Dating Apps! Messaging Tips for Continued Enjoyment
Thank you for reading! 😊
Do you ever feel troubled by messages on dating apps, thinking,
“It's such a hassle to have the same conversations over and over...”
or “The conversation just won't flow...”?
Today, I'd like to write about the methods I practiced to enjoy messaging on dating apps, which helped me meet my spouse in just two months! 😊
If you've been reading my previous articles, you must have started meeting people who seem compatible with you!
That's exactly why we should enjoy messaging even more! 🌸
If you haven't read the previous articles yet, please check them out here 👇
1. Don't force yourself with people you don't enjoy talking to
First of all, if you aren't enjoying the messages with someone,
there is no need to force yourself to reply. 🙅♀️
Some people end up giving up on dating apps because they force themselves to reply, get tired of it, and stop opening the app... 😂
Since the goal of dating apps is
“to meet your soulmate,”you don't need to spend time
“exchanging messages with people who aren't your soulmate!”
In my case, I would ask about five questions, and if the conversation didn't expand or I didn't feel like replying, I would just leave them on read. 😂
If the conversation doesn't continue, it's highly likely that your values don't align!
There is no need to struggle to keep the conversation going,
so let's deepen connections only with people you actually want to message back. 🙆♀️
💡 Tip
No matter how handsome or beautiful someone is,
if the messaging doesn't feel right,
it's important to have the courage not to continue messaging. Please don't force yourself to continue with people who aren't a good match; just let it go and prioritize your time with people you enjoy talking to! 🥰
2. “App-like conversations” are inevitable! Don't sweat the small stuff
“Thanks for the match!”
“What should I call you?”
“What do you do for work?”
Many people might feel that this “dating app vibe” in conversations is
a bit awkward.
However, as long as you are using a dating app,
I think this is unavoidable. 😂
Don't worry about the details, and it's easier to enjoy yourself if you have a stance ofaccepting template conversations casually!Let's enjoy the typical app conversations too!
💡 Tip
Isn't it fun in a way unique to apps how, even though the first one or two lines of exchange start the same way, the conversation branches off differently depending on the person—sometimes expanding on work, sometimes getting excited about student days, or talking about recent events?
I found it really fun! lol
The secret to enjoying even template exchanges is to feel the other person's personality and take an interest in them, wondering, “What kind of person are they?” ◎
3. Don't give out your LINE too soon
While enjoying the conversation, I recommend not giving out other contact information like LINE too quickly.
If you move to LINE and realize the person is a bit off, you might deeply regret giving it out and end up wanting to quit the app entirely😖
I was the same way. (I exchanged info with about 3 people early on and really regretted it😭 I'll write about my failure story another time😭)
You can message within the app, so I recommend
exchanging info once a date has been set◎
Preventing regret and avoiding negative feelings toward the app is also a trick to enjoying dating apps!
4. Keep matching with new people so you don't run out of options
You might feel anxious, thinking, "If I keep ending conversations myself like that, I'll run out of people to talk to!"
To prevent that, while you're talking to various people, keep matching with new people as well🙆♀️
(※Of course, these should be people who meet the criteria that suit you, as introduced in the previous article!)
Feeling anxious because the number of people you're talking to is decreasing
→ Continuing to talk to people you don't click with
→ Not fun
→ Starting to hate the app
→ Giving up on meeting people through the app
To avoid falling into this negative loop, keep matching with new people and try to find a few people you can have fun talking to😊
💡Point
In my case, I would talk to over 30 people and divide them into three priority levels!
・【High Priority】
People who are fun or whose replies come to mind immediately, 3–5 people
・【Medium Priority】
People I just matched with and don't know the compatibility of yet, or people I don't dislike enough to ignore, 3–5 people
・【Low Priority】
People I can't think of a reply for, or people I'm not having fun with ⇒ Don't reply (about 10–20 people)
There's no need to be equal, so keep replying to the fun people and deepen your connection😊
To avoid waiting around for a reply from your favorite person, keeping your numbers up is recommended🙆♀️
