The nursery school event is coming up, and the tough part that awaits afterward

The nursery school my youngest child attends has an event coming up soon.
It's like a performance recital, a major event on par with sports day.
It's a chance to see how much the children have grown and to see them looking so cute.
Today is just a little murmur about that event—how I'm looking forward to it, but also how that thing that comes after is so tough.
Children grow significantly through events
My youngest (5 years old, middle class) has been working seriously on practice and preparations for nursery school events, especially since this year.
Perhaps the children have also started to realize how important these "events" are to the teachers and parents.
You can see them listening carefully to the teachers and making an effort to remember the steps and choreography.
The culmination of this is presented on the day of the event, and parents and teachers are moved to tears by how much they have grown.
Having said that, just being cute is enough
There are always a certain number of children who cry on the day or can't show the results of their practice.
Is that bad? Is it disappointing? Not at all.
Even those moments are precious and etched in our memories as something dear.
My child is cute no matter what they are doing.
Just by them being there, we parents can be happy.
That thing afterward is honestly tough
What is "that thing afterward"? It's "photo selection."
Teachers and professional photographers take pictures of nursery school life and events, which are sold later.
Since they are usually sold in batches covering several months, it amounts to hundreds of photos across all classes.
The task of finding my child among them and selecting which ones to buy is, well, it's really tough.
Recently, AI facial recognition picks out photos of my child (presumably), but I don't quite trust it, so I end up checking everything anyway.
It's a tough task after an event that always requires a lot of mental preparation.
Conclusion
This was a story about how I look forward to events, but am always struggling with the photo selection that comes with them.
Right now, it's the sales period for the sports day and field trip photos, and I'm checking them with my eyes wide open.
