|Later|, |when| |he| |heard| |that| |Kagesue| |intended| |to| |divorce| |his| |wife|, |he| |said|, |"One| |must| |not| |divorce| |such| |a gentle| |woman|.
|Furthermore|, |when| |I| |saw| |her| |at| |this| |time|, |there| |was| |a pale| |red| |color| |under| |her| |left| |eye|. |This| |is| |undoubtedly| |a sign of| |pregnancy|, |and| |in particular|, |it| |should| |be| |a boy|. |I| |once| |heard| |this| |from| |a physiognomist| |in the past|," |and| |so| |Kagesue| |stopped| |thinking| |about| |the divorce|. |It| |was| |true|; |when| |the months| |were| |full|, |she| |gave birth| |to| |a boy| |like| |a jewel|. |Kagesue| |said| |this| |was| |a gift| |from| |the lord|, |and| |it| |is said| |he| |rejoiced| |and| |cherished| |them|.

|Kagesue| |was| |the eldest son| |of| |Heizo| |Kagetoki|, |and| |his| |disposition| |resembled| |his father's|, |and| |though| |it is said| |he| |had| |a treacherous| |side|, |his| |bravery| |was| |that of| |a warrior| |whose| |name| |echoed| |throughout| |Bando|. |His| |contention| |for| |the vanguard| |at| |the Uji River|, |and| |his| |leading| |the charge| |at| |the Ikuta Forest|, |truly| |astonished| |the ears and eyes| |of| |all people|.
|Kagesue's| |hair| |was| |coarse| |and| |short|, |his| |eyes| |were| |hidden| |and| |composed|, |and| |he| |had| |a single-character| |pattern| |on his forehead|. |This| |is| |a physiognomy| |of| |a strong-willed| |nature| |with| |a crooked| |heart|, |but| |overall|, |he| |had| |a gentle| |side| |to his disposition|, |could| |compose| |poems| |well|, |and| |was| |also| |filial| |to his father|. |Therefore|, |he| |helped| |his father's| |evil|, |which| |is| |a pity|. |His| |conduct| |is| |hard| |to call| |beautiful|.

|Yoshihide| |was| |the third son| |of| |Wada| |Yoshimori|. |In reality|, |he| |was| |the seed| |of| |Kiso| |Yoshinaka|, |and| |his mother| |was| |Tomoe|. |His| |bravery| |resembled| |his parents'|, |and| |his| |superhuman strength| |such as| |the pulling| |of| |Soga| |Goro's| |neck guard|, |or| |breaking| |the main gate| |of| |the palace| |during| |the Wada| |Battle|, |is| |well| |known| |to people|. |Therefore|, |in paintings|, |his| |features| |are| |often| |depicted| |as| |violent| |to show| |his| |courage|, |but| |in reality|, |it| |is| |not| |so|.

|Matsushima no Tsubone|
|The Tsubone| |was| |the daughter| |of| |a noble family| |from the capital|, |but| |as| |the times| |changed|, |she| |went down| |to Kamakura| |and| |served| |as| |a lady-in-waiting| |in the palace|. |She| |suddenly| |fell in love| |with| |Asahina| |Yoshihide| |at first sight| |and| |deeply| |yearned| |for him|, |but| |in the end|, |her| |feelings| |were| |not fulfilled|.
|Hearing| |that| |Yoshihide| |had| |died in battle| |during| |the Wada| |Battle|, |she| |wept| |as| |she| |shaved| |her head|, |went up| |to the capital|, |and| |it| |is said| |she| |built| |a hermitage| |and| |lived| |near| |Higashiyama|.
|Although| |the Tsubone| |was| |born| |in the capital| |and| |was| |known| |as| |a beauty|, |her| |head| |was| |extremely| |small| |and| |her| |hair| |was| |very| |long|. |A person| |like this| |will| |have| |difficulties| |when| |going| |to a foreign land|. |Also|, |it| |is said| |she| |had| |no| |fate| |with| |a husband|. |To escape| |this|, |it| |is written| |in a book| |by| |Mai| |Xianweng| |that| |one| |should| |cherish| |the graves| |of| |one's ancestors|.
