Think of the fisherfolk of Ise who harvest seaweed;
on the shores of Suma, where they burn the salt-fires.

Oh, moon-colored horse of the autumn night, gallop
across the clouds, that I may see you for a moment.

Since I am of no account, and my words are of no use,
why should I bury my thoughts like channel buoys?

I shall seek you out myself, for there is no path,
to the heart of the deep wormwood.

What kind of barrier is the gate at Ausaka,
that it should divide those who are thick with grief?
