|Prussian Blue|Verdigris|Manufacturing Method
It is produced from the vital energy of silver and copper mines. During the Keicho era, it was excavated from the Tada silver mine in Banshu. Since then, it has been excavated in many places throughout the country. Before that, it was only imported from China, and there was no excavation in Japan.
However, since it appears in the 'Fusō Ryakki' that Prussian blue was presented from Kōzuke Province in the 6th year of Wado during the reign of Empress Genmei, and from Settsu Province in the 2nd year of Chōkyū during the reign of Emperor Suzaku, it should be known that it has existed in our country since ancient times. The manufacturing method is to crush what is excavated from the mountain with a mortar and perform water levigation.
* 'Suihi' (water levigation) refers to water separation. It is the process of separating multiple solid particles with different sedimentation rates in water. For example, extracting gold from gold dust.
