Domyoji Hoshii (Dried Rice)

Domyoji Dried Rice. Domyoji Temple in Kashu (Kawachi Province) was founded by the aunt of Kan Shojo (Sugawara no Michizane), and it remains a nunnery to this day. Dried rice from this temple is a famous local product. High-quality white rice is steamed, ground into small pieces with a mill, and packed into bags for sale. In summer, it is soaked in water to ward off the heat.
