Like an azusa bow, I have come to the |Arrow |Hall to |worship,
|Wishing for the |Dharma, how |joyful it is to be struck by it.

|The Sacred Arrow of |Hachiman-gu Shrine
|This place was |originally the |shrine grounds of |Hachiman-gu. When |Bodhisattva |Gyoki |arrived, Hachiman-gu |issued an imperial decree to |have a |statue of |Kannon |made from a |sacred tree.

|Upon this, the |evil spirits and |demons of this |vicinity, realizing that this had become a Buddhist site, were greatly enraged, saying they had |nowhere to |live. |Each of them |carried their |weapons, |shaking the |void, and |rained down |fire, |rampaging about.

Hachiman-gu proceeded to |Mount Buko, urged the |rampaging |gods to stop, and when he |drove away the |evil spirits, the sacred arrows released by Hachiman |Gu pierced the demons one by one. Because they |fell |here, it was |named the |Arrow |Hall, and even now, there are many instances of |miraculous |efficacy.
