Background of the inspiration for 'Hippocampus Prayer'
The melody
changes its tone
changes its form
and appears time and time again
Sometimes gloomily
sometimes violently
And
sometimes
it quietly takes on a glow
Perhaps life is the same,
and the reason trials visit us
is, like this piece of music,
so that we may eventually
shine brighter from the depths of despair
That is why
I want to keep moving forward
without forgetting hope
Until the day I am wrapped
in a soft warmth
like the tone of a horn

Thank you for reading.
I am also grateful to those who have made their way to TALES.
This work was conceived and written last year, and I have continued to add to and revise it since then. Part of the inspiration lies in Elon Musk's Neuralink concept.
Neuralink is a device for connecting the brain to a computer
・Reading electrical signals from the brain
・Operating machines with thought (cursor control, etc.)
・Primarily for medical purposes such as assisting those with paralysis
It is a technology that communicates brain signals to external terminals wirelessly, as described above.
The 'Connectus' in 'Hippocampus Prayer' is a fictional device that intervenes in memory itself
・Cognitive function is restored
・Memories are lost/replaced
・Personality and emotions are affected
It is a technology that updates the human inner self.
Tchaikovsky's 'Symphony No. 5'
It is characterized by a theme (melody) reminiscent of 'fate' that appears repeatedly throughout all movements. The theme appears in different forms in each movement, changing from anxiety to prayer, and finally into a powerful sound.
Although I have linked only the second movement, this is a performance video where the relationship between the melody and the instruments is very easy to understand. It is a video where you can clearly see the melody shifting from the horn to the clarinet, and then to the oboe. It is a wonderful performance that conveys even the breath of the performers.
You can feel the 'heaviness' and 'darkness' peculiar to Russian orchestras, the emotion expressed by Petrenko, and the feeling that the melody is seeping out rather than just being spoken.
Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64, 2nd Movement
