Freshly Picked Library: Reading 'Anna ni Anna ni'
We have set up a book lending corner and a board to introduce recommended books in the store. I will introduce a recommended book from the Freshly Picked Library.
Anna ni Anna ni (So Much, So Much) by Shinsuke Yoshitake
Background
I first learned about Shinsuke Yoshitake through his children's picture books. I think it was either 'Natsumi-tte Nani ni Nareru ka' (What Can Natsumi Become?) or 'Ringo Kamoshirenai' (It Might Be an Apple).
I think I've been reading his new releases ever since.
This book is a picture book for adults.
It's a book that I happened to read at the library and was moved by.
Content of the book
Using the word 'Anna ni' (so much) as a play on words,
this work captures
the daily life and growth of children.
Just when you think, 'Exactly, exactly,'
it makes you cry.
Thoughts
I realized that a child's growth
is equal to a parent's aging.
If anything,
I read it thinking about my own parenting.
Surprisingly, when I see elementary school students reading it,
perhaps they feel something too.
Things I do or have done after reading this book
-
I recommend it to guests at the Freshly Picked Library
Quite a few people have read it.
-
I also lend it out.
It just came back today.

Who I want to read this
Elementary school students: I want you to read it from a parent's perspective.
Parenting generation: I am also still in the middle of raising children, but I want you to feel how short the time of 'even though they were so much like this' is.
Summary
As expected of a Shinsuke Yoshitake picture book, you can just enjoy it idly, but among them, this book is excellent.
Please pick it up at least once.
It is also available for checkout from the library's collection.
