I once cried in front of my father's care manager
On December 1, 2020, my left leg suddenly became paralyzed.
The next day, December 2, my mother, who had been caring for my father, broke her bone and was hospitalized.
Having barely been involved in my father's care, I was suddenly left alone with him.
My father was stubborn and refused everything, including short-stay services and day care.
The moment my mother's hospitalization was decided, he asked, "What about my lunch?"
I called my company while crying and took a nursing care leave.
Even though my left leg wouldn't move, I thought of myself as the "caregiver."
My right leg, both hands, eyes, ears, and mouth were all working. I could even drive a car.
So, I thought I would manage somehow.
But I couldn't walk to the supermarket, so I spent every day buying food at convenience stores.
While going to appointments for my own leg, I was filled with anxiety, wondering, "Will I never be able to walk again?"
In the midst of that, while talking to my father's care manager, tears started to fall.
My father had a care manager.
My mother had a hospital.
My leg had a doctor.
But for walking the dogs, I couldn't consult anyone.
Ten toy poodles were looking at me.
As the days went by when I couldn't take them for walks, all I could do was think, "I'm sorry."
That experience taught me something.
Even if there are systems in place, there are places they don't reach.
Even if there is a care manager, there are places they cannot enter.
When it comes to pets, there is nowhere to turn for advice.
There are definitely people like that.
That is why I decided to stand in that "place where no one was."
A pet sitter can naturally enter a home.
The kitchen, the restroom, the entryway.
Because there is the excuse of "doing it for the dog," even proud people will accept me.
I am in a position where I can notice small changes in life faster than anyone else.
If you have a case where you are concerned about a client's pet, why don't we talk about it?
