Parenting | Me and My Two Children ~Children Are Eternal Lovers~
To moms and dads currently raising children,
To those who will soon be moms and dads,
To future moms and dads,
I believe that parenting takes on
many different forms, methods, and policies
depending on the mom and dad.
It truly takes all sorts.
I would be happy if you could use
how I raised my two daughters when I was married
(I am single now💦)
as a reference.🤩
✋1. Our Couple's Parenting Policy (5 Rules)
① We raise our own children.
Except for when it is "absolutely impossible"
or in an "emergency," we do not rely on our parents (the grandparents).
As a result, we almost never
left the children alone at their grandparents' house.
(Of course, we did visit them to play.)
② Violence/Abuse is strictly prohibited (do not raise a hand).Since I was abused growing up,
this was a "strict rule."
→ There were times when my husband raised his hand,
but at those times, as a penalty,
I would retaliate against my husband.
Of course, it was a slap💥)`-' ) lol
③ Scolding based on emotion is strictly prohibited.
If you scold based on emotion,
it doesn't get through to the children.
We made sure to scold them
only after we had calmed down,
explaining what was wrong and what they should do instead.
④ Do not fight in front of the children.
If we absolutely had to fight,
we did it after the children were asleep.
This was quite difficult.
There were times when we ended up letting them see us fight...🙏💦
⑤ Raise them by praising them.
Praise them even for the little things.
Find the good things and praise them.
When they can do something
they couldn't do before,
praise them to the skies.
It's okay to be a doting parent!
I had these 5 rules posted in the toilet, the entryway, and the bedroom.
📖2. Lessons & Studies (~Student Days)
① Basically ignore report cards.
I didn't get angry even if their grades dropped.
Conversely, I would praise them immensely for 5s or double circles on a 5-point scale.👏
② Required subjects were English & Swimming.English for their future,
and swimming to strengthen their physical fitness.
→ Both of them started at age 5
and continued until their third year of junior high school.
③ Do not quit during the 3 years of high school.
I kept saying this to teach them
"not to give up halfway"on things they decided for themselves.
Both of them kept saying they wanted to quit
for different reasons.💦
④ It's okay to skip!
"If you don't want to go, it's okay to take a break."
"Just make sure to tell me."
"It's okay to skip."
I said this whenever the opportunity arose, but...
In the end, both of them
had perfect attendance with no tardiness throughout.👏🏻✨
⑤ The rebellious phase arrived (💢'ω')💢
During this time,
I was physically and mentally
shattered.
With the divorce, depression, and so many other things,
I'm sure the children
were frustrated too.🙇♂️
🛍️4. Present (Employment~)
Having grown up like this,
my two daughters are now:
My eldest daughter went to a medical university and is now employed.
My second daughter works in the beauty industry.
Both daughters have left home
and live in different places,
but now it's like we're friends;
we have tea, go to lunch,
and sometimes travel together,
and they look out for me.
They have become fine adults.
💓5. My Current Thoughts
Parenting was truly difficult.
There were times when I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown
and was on the verge of neglect.
But parenting passed in the blink of an eye.
There are also many things
that I learned from my daughters.
I think my two daughters made me a mom,
even though I was immature.
To the moms and dads currently on the job,
and to the future moms and dads,
I know it's a difficult era for parenting
and every day is tough, but
please, always
continue to love your children.
That is my earnest wish.
My two daughters are
my ~eternal lovers~.
Thank you
