Knowing Yourself Through Your StrengthsFinder® Top 10

This week, I participated in a two-day workshop at Strengths Lab. Along with learning how to understand and utilize my own talents,
the opportunity to hear the personal experiences of the other participants was a very fun and interesting time. I am in my 40s, so I

manage my interpersonal relationships based on experience
to some extent, but I felt that if younger people or those who struggle with workplace relationships knew about this, it might make their lives easier.

StrengthsFinder® was developed based on the late Don Clifton's philosophy that "people maximize their potential by focusing on and utilizing their strengths rather than improving their weaknesses." In developing StrengthsFinder®, Gallup extracted various human talents from every angle to identify strengths and categorized (clustered) them by their most common characteristics. Ultimately, these were identified as 34 themes, and each theme was given a name that represents its characteristics. When you take the StrengthsFinder® assessment, you will learn the order of strength in which these 34 themes appear within you.

My Top 10 Strengths

The Top 5 are themes that appear with the frequency of breathing in daily life and are always switched ON, while the themes from 6th to 12th are
themes that appear occasionally and are themes that have moments where they get switched on, apparently.

1. Learner (Strategic Thinking)
2. Harmony (Relationship Building)
3. Responsibility (Executing)
4. Developer (Relationship Building)
5. Intellection (Strategic Thinking) 6. Empathy (Relationship Building) 7. Relator (Relationship Building) 8. Discipline (Executing) 9. Belief (Executing) 10. Fairness (Executing)

While valuing "relationships" with people, I sometimes have my "Executing" switch turned on and just charge ahead. Wow, really. Looking at my Top 10, the reasons for my chaotic behavior until now make perfect sense.

Immediate realizations

Since it's only been a day, it's been fun today to have moments where I notice, "Oh, that theme just came out in me!" even from my small actions.

By the way, my "Responsibility" episode is...

I absolutely hate it when my second son says, "Mom, you broke your promise!," so I say, "Wait a minute. We didn't make a promise, did we!?" "A promise is only established when both parties agree. Since you and Mom haven't agreed yet, that wasn't a promise..." which is

me desperately trying to make excuses with an explanation that shouldn't be directed at a third grader
💦

Ah, I see.
My Responsibility theme was rejecting being told I broke a promise—that's why I was so fixated on it, was my realization.

The diversity of "theme x theme" is truly interesting!

And the talk about combinations of themes that produce various synergistic effects is even more interesting!

With my themes, I received the very honorable comment that I am a "very gentle, supernatural coach" due to "Learner x Intellection." ✨

Take an interest in others, listen to what they have to say, and genuinely want to understand (Learner).
Want to deepen the meaning of what the other person is saying (Intellection).
The other person
(since my Influencing themes are low), I want to move them, not "I..." identify and nurture
the potential others have, which is also the Developer theme.

Wow. So that's why the two days were so much fun (laughs).
Listening to various people's stories and learning about their various possibilities was genuinely interesting!

I want to become one. A super coach✨
