Giving Words a Form. (Self-Introduction)
Lately, I've been thinking more and more about how mysterious words are.
Sometimes a single phrase in a casual conversation strikes a chord in my heart, or
I feel like someone has seen right through me in a social media post.
Conversely, there are times when no matter how long we talk, my feelings just don't get across.
We live surrounded by a vast number of words every day.
But I feel like the truly important words are surprisingly few.
I have lived my life by picking up "words."
Hello, I'm Morin.
Every day, I post insights and questions that can be read in 5 minutes on note.
In those moments when I pause in my daily life,
asking, "Why is this?" or "Is it just me?"
I cherish those kinds of questions.
There is no right answer, but
I want to write "words" that help the reader look forward a little,
or make their heart feel lighter with a sense of "I totally get that."
And so, I decided to "give words a form."
I thought that if I could turn my insights into something tangible, rather than just letting them end with "reading," they might last longer.
I turned the thumbnail images from my note posts directly into T-shirts.
If the things I felt today and the words that resonated with me could become something I can wear,
I believe every day would look a little different.
Also, using a technique called book folding,
I fold books to turn names, words, and silhouettes into art pieces.
These are completely made-to-order.
Some people give them as gifts, while others order them as a special memento for themselves.
When you feel like you want to "preserve words,"
I think it's good to have the option to give them a form and keep them.
Adding gentle meaning to daily life
T-shirts are for "quietly expressing your feelings."
Book folding is "interior decor that carves out your thoughts."
And, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the Doubutsu Kikin (Animal Fund) Foundation.
Even if it's a small choice,
if it helps someone or contributes to providing meals for animals,
I think that "purchase" takes on a slightly special meaning.
Hoping to gently stay by your side in your daily life
When you're tired, or when you can't quite express your feelings,
I'm sure you've had the experience of being saved by someone's words.
I hope the T-shirts and art I create
can become that kind of "small support" for you.
Thank you for reading this far.
