Inhaling the frozen air, a winter morning

I hate the cold, but I love the crisp air of a winter morning.
It's cold outside, and I take a deep breath while my eyes tear up a little.
It's strange, but it makes me feel dignified.

Beyond the flag held by numb hands, my child's smile

The elementary school my children attended had a traffic safety duty. It's what you call flag-waving duty.
Our district has a lot of traffic, so we had to stand there every day. Because of that, my turn came around once a month.
It's hot in the summer, and in the winter, you have to leave the house while it's still dark—it's just freezing!
But beyond the traffic duty flag, I could see the children heading to school full of energy.
…I worked hard at it for eight years with my two kids, really.

Passed out drunk, a winter morning with a stranger

I adapted my problematic senryu from the other day, 'Drank too much, woke up surprised, why is this happening?', into a haiku.
Well, well, yeah.
When you phrase it like this, the extent of the blunder really stands out.
It really lets your imagination run wild (Hey!)
