[Shun-hai] Miyu's Personal Awards ๐Ÿ† Tanka Category ๐Ÿ’™

It's Miyu.

The fun Shun-hai has come to an end.
I was thinking I needed to get my personal awards done quickly, but I've just been spacing out.
Please, don't say, 'Hey, you're always spacing out!' to me~.
Miyu-chan is a sensitive soul (>_<)

If I keep going like this, my intro alone will hit 500 characters, so I'd like to get right to the announcements.

I had the pleasure of serving as a judge for the Tanka category this time.
I've decided to present personal awards to the works where I thought, 'Hmm, what should I do? I love this poem, but I've run out of judge's award slots (+_+)'.

These will be introduced in the order they were posted โญ

Well then, here you go ๐Ÿ’›

+++++++++++++++

๐ŸŒด Shichi-san

We were supposed to be just friends until a moment ago
The waves washed something away

I believe that when love begins, a switch can suddenly flip.
I thought this poem captured that feeling perfectly.

I wonder if this summer beach scene is set when the sun is starting to dip.
Perhaps when a brief silence falls, the waves come rushing in to wet the feet of the two people on the shore.
I imagine that's when they shift from friend mode into love mode.

Oh, that's so nice.
It makes my heart flutter just imagining it. Even after shifting from friend mode to love mode, I'm sure they'd both be a little bewildered for a while.

๐ŸŒด Kotaro-san

Blue sky and a contrail stretching out
The borderline between you and me

When I saw this poem in the list, I thought there were two possible situations.
Is it a situation of unrequited love, or is it a situation where a breakup might be coming?
It makes me want to dig deeper and analyze which one it is.

However, because it mentions the 'blue sky,' I felt this was likely a situation of unrequited love. That's because I could sense a certain refreshing quality to it.
I think the poem does a great job of contrasting my stateโ€”wanting to get closer but still feeling a distance in our hearts that I can't quite bridgeโ€”with the contrail drawn in a straight line across the blue sky.
It brings to mind visuals like a commercial for Mitsuya Cider or Kirin Lemon. I can't help but hope that the love will bear fruit, crossing over that line of the contrail.

๐ŸŒด Panda Gorogoro-san

When I look up at the sky unexpectedly, I am suddenly taken aback
by the way the white clouds are flowing.

I have used another of Panda Gorogoro-san's poems as the centerpiece for one of my novels.
I chose this poem for my arbitrary award!

Panda Gorogoro-san is so skilled with words that they pierce my heart deeply.

Even though I had been looking down, when I look up at the sky, the summer clouds are drifting in the wind. Watching that sky, I can't help but think that I must be losing my mind for straying from the path...
That kind of feeling comes across.
Even if it is a forbidden love, love is not something you choose to do; it is something your heart feels, so there is nothing you can do about it, is there?

๐ŸŒด Suufu-san

The gray, tearless sky is heavy,
and the parched, flightless flower remains.

The gray rainy season sky that looks like it might cry, combined with the feeling of wanting to cry but being unable to, is so poignant that it makes my heart ache.
The feeling of the gloomy sky and that feeling of a gloomy heart press upon me.

The flightless flower is 'me,' isn't it?
Wanting to cry but unable to, my heart has become dry and parched. Yet, I remain standing there, unable to move.
If only a rain shower would come, I would feel refreshed. If I could just cry my heart out, even if it were sad or painful at the time, I would feel better.
It is tough when the sadness and pain never seem to heal, I thought.

I couldn't help but project the flightless flower onto myself...

๐ŸŒด Ringorin-san

'Mom, who do you love the most?'
asked my daughter, amidst distant fireworks.

This is...!!
When I saw this poem in the list, I let out a strange sound.

I think daughters are beings who strike at the most unexpected places with such directness.
I'm sure the daughter in this poem asked with innocence and no malice.

Normally, one would smile and answer, 'Your father, of course ๐Ÿ’—.' But I wonder about the mother in this poem... (๏ฟฃโ–ฝ๏ฟฃ)
The phrase 'distant fireworks' adds a sharp, spicy kick, like Japanese pepper, doesn't it?
Hmm, I wonder how the mother answers.

In my own 'Miyu-brain' interpretation, I couldn't help but think it might be that person who still lives in her heart and leaves memories behind. After all, who you hold in your heart is your own business.
But she probably answers her daughter with a cool face, 'Your father, of course ๐Ÿ’—.' Well, her eyes might dart around a bit, or she might act a little flustered, though ๐Ÿ’ฆ

The five people above have received the arbitrary Miyu Awardsโญ
Congratulations to all the winners! ๐Ÿ‘‘โœจโœจ

I am truly sorry for being so late.
If you have already written a thank-you post, I apologize for the trouble.๐Ÿ’ง

Also, I would like to present my personal awards for haiku and senryu as well.
...as soon as possible (>_<)
I also want to write a thank-you post for the personal awards I received myself.
...as soon as possible (>_<)

๐ŸŽตSorry for the delay, Kaoru-chan~

๐Ÿ‘† This song is from before I was born, so I don't know it very well, but๐Ÿ’ฆ
When I was in high school, there was a girl in my class named "Kaoru-chan," and someone used to sing this song to her. That was when I first learned about it.

Dreaming of the day you make your phantom thief declaration๐Ÿ’›

Thank you for reading until the end today as wellโ™ช
