"Rainy Season Fortune-telling Now Available"

When the limited-time fortune-telling menu begins, the fortune-telling hall of Futodama-no-Mikoto becomes bustling with many customers, including farmers, umbrella shop owners, and beach house operators.

One day, a beautiful princess came for a reading.

"I am meeting my husband on Tanabata, but how will the weather be?"

Futodama-no-Mikoto speaks the results of the reading while stroking a crystal ball.

"Oh, Princess Orihime. As for Tanabata... it will be fine. The weather will be good. However, there is something that concerns me. For some reason, it seems a great bolt of lightning will strike."

On the day of Tanabata, just as Futodama-no-Mikoto had predicted, the weather was fine. Hikoboshi and Orihime rejoiced in their reunion after a year apart.

"Hiko-chan. Even though we keep in touch on social media, it's nice to actually meet in person."
"You're right. Ori-chan, you're as beautiful as ever. I've been looking forward to today so much."

The two began their meal at a nice restaurant, but the sweet time lasted only a little while. It was because the excited Hikoboshi drank too much alcohol and got drunk.

"Hey, Hiko-chan. Why are you getting drunk!! This is our first meeting in a year. If you drink that much, you'll be useless! What are you going to do after this?"

A great bolt of lightning, dropped by Orihime, echoed through the restaurant.

This week's theme is "Rainy Season Fortune-telling."

For this story, I brought back Hiko-chan and Ori-chan, the characters from "A Husband is Best When He's Away," which I wrote for the theme "Hikoboshi Kidnapping" two years ago.

When you keep writing for a long time, there is also the joy of bringing back characters from previous stories like this!

By the way, Futodama-no-Mikoto is apparently a god of fortune-telling who appears in the myth of the Heavenly Rock Cave.
