[A Tanka from a Song] Tanka from Summer Songs Part 1: Male Vocal Edition
It's Miyu.
Another fun project has started, hasn't it?
A Tanka from a Song—so I'll be composing Tanka based on summer songs. First up is the first installment, featuring male vocal summer songs. ...Does that mean there will be a sequel⁉️ Yes, there certainly will ( ̄▽ ̄)
Well then, let's get started~⭐️
🌈 A-men de Koi wo Shite (Falling in Love on the A-Side) - NIAGARA TRIANGLE
Take me away, swept up by you to anywhere
The A-side love we play together
As expected, this was the first one that came to mind.
Then, I realized my song choice overlapped with Kacchi-san's💦 But well, we're from the same generation, so it can't be helped.
I wrote this Tanka from a girl's perspective.
This music video is really amazing, isn't it?
As someone who was in junior high or high school in the 80s, I tremble with nostalgia. The 'Utsurundesu' (is the one in the MV a Kodak?), the cars driving by, and so on...
And I really love the girls drawn by Hisashi Eguchi.
My younger brother used to buy Jump, so I read Jump manga often too. Hibari-kun as well.
Having said that, I only started listening to Eiichi Ohtaki properly recently. There are many people on note who are knowledgeable about music, and I started listening because of their influence.
🌈 Kimi wa Tennenshoku (A Natural Color) - Eiichi Ohtaki
The you in the silent photograph is so vivid
Now that you are gone, the colors are lost
This song overlapped with Kacchi-san's too💦
But, it can't be helped. We're the same generation, and it's summer, after all.
Even though this song has a bright feel, there's a shadow to it somewhere, isn't there?
Learning the backstory of this song made it all click for me.
I like Junichi Inagaki, so I listened to it a little bit through my connection to 'Koi suru Karen,' but I've been listening to it a lot lately.
Still, I'm no match for those who are truly knowledgeable.
🌈 LADY NAVIGATION - B'z
Let's go! With your map and my map
Hand in hand, toward the dazzling future
I really did love B'z up until about the 90s.
I especially loved them in the early 90s. After all, they were even playing in the discos in my hometown.
And then, there's this song. I just like it.
But it was quite difficult to compose a Tanka for this.
Miyu did her best❗️
🌈 Taiyou no Komachi Angel B’z
Even the sun is repelled by how head over heels I am
No logic needed, you are my angel
This song is so upbeat, isn't it?
If someone were singing this at karaoke, you'd just want to join in with the cheers.
This song came out in 1990, and I feel like it really fit the world back then. You know, that energetic, go-getter era.
Things weren't all good back then, I'm sure, but there was definitely a lot of energy.
Yes, exactly, back in those days.
Even when going on a date with a guy, they would pay for everything. And we would buy the coffee or quickly hand over the toll money at the booth. ← Naturally, there was no ETC back then.
In some cases, there were times we didn't even have to take out our wallets once.
When someone at a bar would say, "Let's have a drink together," they would even pay for our drinks.
Ah, memories of the past (lol).
But because I have those experiences in the back of my mind, I was surprised to hear that young people today split the bill on dates, though I also thought that perhaps it's healthier and more equal.
🌈 Kibou no Wadachi (Tracks of Hope) Southern All Stars
On a summer day, I set out on a journey with passion in my heart
Leaving behind tracks as I carry my dreams
This song is also from 1990.
Back then, Southern and Yuming were the gold standard for driving music, weren't they?
Perhaps thanks to that, I still love Southern and Yuming even now.
I just really like this song.
When I went for a drive during Golden Week, I displayed some emotional instability by quietly crying while listening to this song without the person in the passenger seat noticing.
When I was young, for some reason, I felt a sense of omnipotence and thought I could become someone. I didn't become anyone special, but a quiet passion continues to burn secretly, thinking that I might still be able to become someone from here on out.
Holding that passion in my heart, I keep running.
It's still too early to get old, and I can't lose to the young ones! I'll keep running without becoming a nuisance to society.
Thank you for the fun project 😊
I look forward to working with you again this time 💚
Thank you for reading until the end today as well ♪
