[Weekly Short-Short Note] The Receptionist's Ordeal: Nine Times Out of Ten, It's Shichi-Go-San
"Yes, this is Uma Dental Clinic. Oh, your filling came out? In that case, how about around 4 o'clock today?"
Once November arrives, the phones for appointments ring incessantly on Monday mornings after the weekend. Mina, who just started at the reception desk recently, is exhausted from answering calls since the morning. Because so many appointments are coming in, three days' worth of slots filled up in the blink of an eye.
During her lunch break, while eating her bento, she asked Sakura, the dental hygienist.
"Sakura-san, why are there so many patients on the Monday after a holiday in November? And they're all kids whose fillings came out."
Sakura finished her carton of vegetable juice with a slurp and answered with a laugh.
"Mina-san, you're still new, so you wouldn't know. Here's a hint. How old do you think most of the kids are whose fillings came out? Plus, it's November now. Doesn't that give you a clue?"
After finishing her bento, Mina popped a caramel into her mouth and pressed her hand to her brow in thought. Then, her face lit up.
"The Monday after a holiday in November. Three-year-olds, elementary school girls, and boys in uniforms. Nine times out of ten, they lost them because of Chitose Ame!"

I'm participating in the weekly short-short note! 💛
This week's theme is "Nine times out of ten, Shichi-Go-San."
This time, it's exactly 410 characters!!
I'm actually really happy about that. 😊
Well then.
This week's theme is also quite tricky, isn't it? 💦
And the way it looks written out... lol
I prefer the Milky Bar type for Chitose Ame.
When my child had them, they were the regular kind, though.
Come to think of it, they used to have Milky Bars and Peko-chan Bars back in the day, didn't they?
They have a different deliciousness compared to regular Milky candies.
You'd snap them against the corner of a desk.
When they first came out, I used to go all the way to Fujiya to buy them.
I wonder if they still sell them now.
Well, in any case, be careful with your dental fillings (=_=)
Thank you for reading until the end today as well ♪
