Rehabilitation Record: Short Text 2
Last night, I woke up feeling intense pain in my left leg.
It seems the cause was that my left ankle was twisted in an odd direction, leaving me unable to move. I immediately sat up and massaged my left ankle.
Due to a cervical spine compression fracture, both of my legs have been paralyzed, and my sensation of pain has been dulled. My left leg, in particular, was in such a severe state that it was paralyzed to the point where I would never wake up from pain in the middle of the night like this.
In the midst of this, I found it strange that I felt a sense of joy in being able to feel the pain in my left leg.
Over the past week, my range of motion has increased, and I have felt changes in my body, such as being able to trim my own toenails and put on and take off my socks.
My hospital stay has been long, and the muscle mass throughout my body has decreased.
I have also lost flexibility, so there are still many challenges ahead.
Things I can do on the bed include:
Stretching my ankles, knees, hip joints, shoulders, and neck
Light strength training for my upper body
I will continue to do what I can to move forward, even if just a little.
My favorite phrase:
"Give your all to what you must do!"
Having said that, regarding rehabilitation, while keeping that sentiment in my heart,
"The secret to winning is to keep at it!"
I will proceed with this mindset.
To be continued
